Tuesday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Albright Court in reference to a violation of a court order. The reporting party was contacted by an ex boyfriend via another friend's Facebook Messenger. The reporting party has a full order of protection against the ex boyfriend, which prohibits contact of any kind.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 1000 block of West Broadway Boulevard Tuesday evening for a report of found property. Kris Hineman reported that an automobile fuel tank was removed from the roadway as a traffic hazard and placed into his yard. The tank was taken to the Sedalia Police Department, where it was placed into evidence holding as found property.


 

Officers took a report of a missing/runaway juvenile in the Sedalia Police Department lobby late Tuesday night. Meghan Zeller reported a juvenile in the care of a local group home in the 1900 block of South Ingram Avenue snuck out and ran away a short time before the report. The juvenile's information was put into law enforcement databases as a missing person. No foul play was suspected.


 

Tuesday afternoon, Officers met with someone in the 600 block of South Moniteau Avenue who wished to report that a family member may have been sexually assaulted in the past two weeks. There is little suspect information at this time.


 

Sedalia Police met with Courtney Rhoads at the Sedalia Police Headquarters Tuesday morning. Rhoads wished to report a hit and run accident that occurred the day before near the intersection of South State Fair Boulevard and West Broadway Boulevard. There are no suspects at this time.


 

Tuesday afternoon, Officers spoke with Betty Jo Gillespie over the phone regarding a theft that occurred two days before in the 900 block of Olsen Road.


 

Officers met with Sergio Marcos-Lazaro Tuesday afternoon at the Sedalia Police Headquarters in reference to a theft. Marcos-Lazaro stated his bicycle was stolen from the 400 block of North Veteran's Memorial Drive.


 

Monday morning, Officers responded to the 3100 block of Aaron Avenue in reference to a stolen trailer. Mikhail A. Ostapenko reported a box trailer was stolen overnight, along with several construction tools. The value of the trailer was estimated at approximately $5,000 and the tools were valued at approximately $5,650. The trailer was later located and recovered near the 4800 block of South Limit Avenue. The tools were missing out of the trailer and there was approximately $1,000 worth of damage to the trailer. The trailer was released to the owner. No suspects have been identified at this time.


 

Tuesday morning, Officers were dispatched to a theft in the 2200 block of West 1st Street. Dylan Nelson reported that the night before, an unknown suspect got into their vehicle and stole a carton of cigarettes. There are no suspects at this time.


 

Sedalia Police took a vandalism report Monday morning from the Casey's General Store, 1601 East Broadway Boulevard. Upon arriving, Officers spoke with management. They advised that the vandalism occurred over the weekend.


 

Tuesday morning, Officers stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard for speeding. An illegal weapon was seized during the stop. It was secured into evidence for future destruction and no charges are being requested.


 

Tuesday morning, Officers contacted a subject who had left personal items in the lobby of the Police Department Headquarters. The owner of the items is known, but the person was not cooperative with Officers. Personal items were collected belonging to the subject. The items were placed into evidence as found property.
