On the night of October 17th, Officers conducted a vehicle check the Yeager's Cycle store, 3001 South Limit Avenue. An on scene investigation resulted in one male suspect being arrested. Kevin Patrick Kares, 50, of Sedalia, was arrested for felony Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Kares was taken to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.


 

Early Monday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of West Spring Street in reference to a physical domestic disturbance. Officers arrived and made contact with the victim, who had injuries consistent with being choked. The suspect left prior to the arrival of Officers. The suspect was later contacted in the 900 block of West Broadway Boulevard. Alexander F. Morris, 42, of Sedalia, was arrested for state charges of Domestic Assault in the 2nd Degree. Morris was placed on a 24 hour hold with bond to be determined.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 700 block of East 10th Street Sunday night for a report of a violation of a court order. On scene investigation led to a male suspect being arrested for violating the order. Aric S. Belzer, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested for Violation of a Full Order of Protection. Belzer was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour hold.


 

Sunday night, Officers responded to the 300 block of North Heard Avenue for a report of property damage. Angela M. Kempf reported that earlier in the evening, someone smashed out a window of her vehicle. No value was placed on the damage at the time of the report.


 

Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of East 6th Street early Sunday morning in reference to a subject attempting to gain entry into a house and a vehicle at the residence. A suspect description was given, and the suspect was located at the Casey's store, 1601 East Broadway Boulevard. When Officers contacted the suspect, he began putting his hands in his pockets. He was told to stop doing this, and continued to fail to comply with Officer's verbal commands. Officers told the suspect to place his hands behind his back. The suspect began pulling away and an arm bar was utilized to take him down to the ground and into custody. Jose Fiscal-Ovil, 24, of Sedalia, was transported to the BRHC where a Fit for Confinement check was obtained. Fiscal-Ovil was later transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour hold. Fiscal-Ovil faces charges of Resisting Arrest and Trespassing in the 1st Degree.


 

Early Friday morning, a car was stopped in the area of the Cork N Bottle store, 3806 East Broadway Boulevard. The vehicle had given indicators of impaired driving, and had committed moving violations. The driver was found to be intoxicated by drugs. Tristan Michael Neth, 39, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs). Neth was taken to a hospital, then the Pettis County Jail, to be booked and released.


 

Saturday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the area of East 3rd Street and South Mill Avenue for a report of theft. Upon arrival, Officers met with John Kevin Kroeger, who stated that sometime in the past week someone stole his 20' flatbed trailer. Kroeger stated the trailer was valued at $7,700.


 

Sunday morning, while on patrol in the area of the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard, Officers were made aware of a sex crime. Officers were dispatched to the Murphy USA gas station, 3203 West Broadway Boulevard, where a victim stated a male subject was standing out in front of the window of the business pleasuring himself. The victim was able to provide security camera footage of the suspect. About thirty minutes later, Officers made contact with another victim, who stated that a male suspect exposed himself to her while she was waiting in her vehicle to walk into work at American Freight (Furniture Factory Outlet), 3200 West Broadway Boulevard. The suspect matched the description of the male, who was doing the same type of act in front of several other businesses in the area.

Officers stopped a vehicle at the Car Mart, 3303 South Limit Avenue Sunday morning. The vehicle had failed to maintain its lane several times. The driver was found to be intoxicated. Maynor Osvaldo Flores Montoya, 35, of Fort Smith Arkansas, was placed under arrest. Montoya was then taken to the Police Department for processing, and then to the Pettis County Jail. Montoya was booked in pending release to a sober person on a state charge of Driving While Intoxicated, Driving Without a Valid License, and Driving Without Financial Responsibility.


 

Sunday morning, Officers observed an SUV in the area of West 19th Street and South Osage Avenue driving without headlights or tail lights. The driver was found to be intoxicated by a combination of alcohol and drugs. Steven Ray Gudde, 24, of Warrensburg, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Gudde was taken to a hospital, then the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.


 

Friday night, Officers observed a north bound vehicle on South Engineer Avenue that was travelling at a high rate of speed. Officers made contact with the vehicle and its two occupants in the area of North New York Avenue and East Walnut Street. On scene investigation led to both occupants being arrested on outstanding warrants. Isidro Romero Jr., 19, Homeless, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Driving While Intoxicated pending a $60 cash only bond. Jorge L. Marcos, 24, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Probation Violation warrant on original charges of Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree pending a $500 cash only bond. Both Romero and Marcos were transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on their warrants.


 

Friday morning, Officers spoke with the owner of Sedalia Automotive, 2101 South Limit Avenue in reference to a failure to return rental property. The complainant stated that his business had rented a van to an individual on October 12th that was to be returned on October 17th. The subject never returned the vehicle and has not communicated with the business since then. The vehicle has been entered a stolen, and charges of Failure to Return Rental Property are being sought on the suspect.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check in the 900 block of South Kentucky Avenue on Saturday afternoon. Officers observed a wanted subject walking into an apartment. After speaking to the subject, they finally came outside and surrendered. The warrant was confirmed. Melvin Edward Osburn, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested for his warrant on charges of Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree. Osburn was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be held pending a $5,000 cash or surety bond.


 

Saturday afternoon, Officers stopped a vehicle near the intersection of West 17th Street and South Harrison Avenue after observing that it's registration was expired. A computer check of the driver's Missouri driving privileges showed they had been suspended. Brandon L. Srader, 41, Homeless, was issued a summons for Driving and released from the scene.


 

Friday afternoon, Officers responded to the 1700 block of East 16th Street in reference to a possible theft. The victim stated that in 2019, he hired a contractor to perform repairs to his residence. In 2022, the victim's residence sustained water damage. A new contractor was hired, who discovered the work in 2019 had not been performed. The work was masked by the contractor at the time. The victim has contacted an attorney, and a report was made to document the incident for any potential wrongdoing.


 

On the night of October 18th, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Harrison Avenue because it had expired registration. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Jimmy D. Brown, 34, of Otterville, was arrested and transported to the BRHC, where a blood draw was conducted. Brown was then transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released on charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs).


 

Sedalia Police responded to the Break Time store, 808 East Broadway Boulevard Friday night in reference to a theft. Employees reported that a female subject had concealed items and left the store without paying for them. The suspect was later identified. Sarita L. Leon, 60, of Sedalia, was issued a summons for Stealing.


 

Early Saturday morning, Officers responded to the 400 block of North Mill Avenue for a report of a disturbance. During contact with the subjects involved, a subject informed Officers that he had a warrant for his arrest. A Cooper County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree was confirmed. Alexander S. Hoose, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail with bond set at $2,000 cash and $2,500 surety.


 

Officers initiated a traffic stop at the MDC Office, 2000 South Limit Avenue, on a vehicle Friday night. The vehicle was failing to maintain its lane. The investigation revealed the driver did not have a valid license. Karla Yojany Linares Garcia, 37, of Sedalia, was arrested, transported to the Sedalia Police Department, and then released on summons for Improper Lane Usage and Operator's License Required.


 

Friday afternoon, Officers met with a subject in the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a potential violation of a court order. The victim provided documentation in reference to a civil judgement, in which the defendant was ordered to pay a specified amount to the plaintiff. The defendant has not done so at this time. The victim, the plaintiff, was instructed to generate a police report as he proceeds with the case.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department Friday morning in reference to found property. Parks Department employees had found a child's BMX bicycle near the lagoon at Liberty Park. The bike was put into evidence for safekeeping.


 

On the morning of October 20th, Officers arrested a subject in reference to an ongoing investigation of sexual misconduct involving a child. The subject was interviewed at the station, and then taken to the Pettis County Jail. Bennett Paul Mayes, 27, Homeless, was booked in and placed on a 24 hour hold pending charges of Domestic Assault in the 2nd Degree and Enticement or Solicitation of a Child.
