Early Friday morning, Officers observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane in the 3800 block of East Broadway Boulevard. A traffic stop was conducted and all occupants were identified. A computer check of all the occupants showed the driver did not have a license and an occupant had a warrant out of Pettis County. After investigation, drugs and drug paraphernalia were located. All occupants were arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail. Sandara Marie Hurd, 46, of Sedalia, was arrested for Possession of a Dangerous Drug and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and placed on a 24 hour hold. Michael Ray Butler, 28, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for his warrant from Pettis County on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance with a $7500 bond. The driver, whose information was not available at newstime, was placed on a 24 hour hold for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a Valid License. All were transported to the Pettis County Jail for holding.


 

Sedalia Police took an assault report in the 1000 block of East 13th Street Thursday afternoon. Olan A. Boatcher Jr reported he was assaulted by the suspect.


 

Late Wednesday night, Officers observed a truck pull out of the Chance's R parking lot, failing to stop at an eastbound stop sign at East 3rd Street and South Lamine Avenue. The truck then failed to signal a turn onto northbound Lamine Avenue. The license plate on the truck was for a car. Officers initiated a traffic stop at South Lamine Avenue and East Main Street. A DOR check revealed the driver's license was revoked. Randall Jay Smith, 53, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest and ultimately transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released on a state charge of Driving While Revoked.


 

On the morning of October 15th, Sedalia Police responded to the Menards store, 4400 Wisconsin Avenue, for a disturbance in progress. On arrival, Officers met with the subject, who was arguing with the store manager. The subject was trespassed from the store. An ongoing investigation in the incident revealed he had taken a total of 34 bags of insulation from the business without paying for them on three prior visits. The total theft was valued at $930.44. Robert S. Hammond, 43, of Stover, was later arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released pending the filing of felony charges of Stealing.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the Steak and Shake restaurant, 4203 Wisconsin Avenue on the morning of October 16th. On arrival, Officers met with the business manager, Suzie Wilbanks, who reported a hit and run accident. Wilbanks stated a driveway sign was damaged overnight. Security footage of the incident was provided. At the time of the report, a suspect has not been located. The sign was valued by the business at $1,500.


 

Thursday afternoon, Inna P. Kozhukharenko came to the Sedalia Police Department to report that someone had potentially stolen their new phone from the 900 block of South Sneed Avenue. Kozhukharenko stated that they had ordered a new iPhone 13. While the delivery service shows the package as having been delivered, Kozhukharenko never received it. No suspect has been identified at this time.


 

Wednesday afternoon, Mykel Schlotterbeck brought a found driver's license to the Police Department. Schlotterbeck had found it in the 3600 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The owner of the license was unable to be contacted. The license was entered as found property.


 

Officers responded to the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Ingram Avenue in reference to a property damage report on the afternoon of October 20th. It was determined that a school bus had a rock thrown through the windshield while students were on board. Glass was sent through the bus, reportedly causing minor injuries to a student on board. The value of the damage was estimated at approximately $500. The suspect was identified as another juvenile. The case was referred to the Juvenile Office.


 

Wednesday afternoon, Sedalia Police responded to the 600 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a physical altercation with a large group of juveniles. Officers arrived and made contact with multiple juveniles. After further investigation, it was determined that two male juveniles had been involved in a physical altercation in front of a residence. The altercation was mutual between both parties. Neither party had visible injuries. Referrals will be sent to the Pettis County Juvenile Office on both involved parties.


 

Sedalia Police responded to a call of trespassing at the Woods Grocery Store, 700 East Broadway Boulevard Wednesday afternoon. A suspect was found to have been previously trespassed from the store. The suspect was arrested at the Break Time Store, 808 East Broadway Boulevard, where the suspect was also trespassed. Mario A. Madrid, 39, Homeless, was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked to be held for 24 hours pending charges of Trespassing in the 1st Degree. Bond and court date are to be determined.


 

Wednesday afternoon, the Sedalia Police Department took a report of a violation of an ex parte in the 1300 block of East 13th Street. The victim stated that the suspect had been contacting her on the phone. The Sedalia Police asked the Pettis County Sheriff's Office to check for the suspect at a location in the county. Deputies located the suspect, and he was arrested on two outstanding warrants for felony Burglary in the 1st Degree and Property Damage in the 2nd Degree. Austin Lee Wood, 25, of Sedalia, was placed on a 24 hour old pending the state charges of Violation of an Ex Parte and Tampering With a Victim/Witness in a Felony Prosecution.


 

On the afternoon of October 17th, Officers responded to the First Choice Auto, 2934 Clinton Road, in reference to a theft. The wheels and tires were stolen off of a customer's car while it was parked in the lot of the business. The value of the stolen items was estimated at approximately $800. No suspects have been identified at this time.
