Wednesday night, Officers responded to the 500 block of West 6th Street in reference to a theft. The victim stated she sold items via Facebook and has not received payment. A suspect has been identified at this time.


 

On the morning of October 8th, Sedalia Police spoke with Herb Townsend, who wished to report that their identification was compromised while they were in their home in the 2600 block of Clarendon Road. There are no suspects at this time.


 

Officers stopped a vehicle in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Sneed Avenue Sunday night for a moving violation. A computer check of the driver's information showed that his Missouri driving privilege had been revoked. Gene K. Robinson, 60, of Sedalia, was issued a summons for Driving While Revoked and released from the scene.


 

Wednesday afternoon, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a car near South Gentry Avenue and West Main Street with expired registration. A search of the car found marijuana and paraphernalia. The marijuana and paraphernalia were seized for destruction.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of West 2nd Street for a domestic disturbance Wednesday morning. Investigation revealed that the suspect struck the victim with a handgun and prevented her from fleeing their home. Randee Powell, 31, of Grandview, was taken into custody and placed on a 24 hour hold pending the filing of charges for Domestic Assault in the 2nd Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Kidnapping Facilitating Felony or Injury, Tampering With a Witness in a Felony Investigation, and Refusal to Identify as a Witness.


 

Wednesday morning, Officers observed a white Ford F150 travelling 51 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone in the 1200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. Officers initiated a traffic stop in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Beacon Avenue. Officers made contact with the suspect, who advised his license was suspended and he had warrants. The suspect's information was run through Dispatch, who advised that his license was suspended. The suspect also had an active Pettis County warrant for non-support, which was confirmed. Andrew J. Shaw, 37, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked (Revoked from Non Payment of Child Support), Speeding, No Proof of Insurance, felony Non Support in Excess of Twelve Months, and a Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Speeding and Driving While Revoked. Shaw was transported to the Pettis County Jail and given a cash only bond of $1000, booked and released.
