Friday night, a car was stopped in the area of West 24th Street and Clinton Road because it was driving without tail lights. The vehicle failed to yield for almost a full minute before stopping. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Luis A. Polito Seba, 36, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Seba was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, processed, and released to a sober person pending municipal charges.


 

Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of West 5th Street Monday morning for a call in regards to a cardiac arrest. Upon arrival, Officers located a male subject who was unresponsive and stiff to the touch. The male was determined to be deceased. The subject was transported to the Heckart Funeral Home.


 

Monday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of East 24th Street for a call regarding a deceased person. Upon arrival, Officers located the female subject and determined she was deceased. The subject was transported to the McLaughlin Funeral Home. A report was generated to document the incident.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 3100 block of Brianna Boulevard for a report of a stolen vehicle Monday morning. Austin C. Duncan stated that sometime overnight, someone stole his white GMC Sierra 2500 truck. Duncan stated that the vehicle was locked, and he still had the keys with him. The estimated value of the truck was set at $10,000. There are no suspects at this time. A copy of the report was sent to Dispatch to be entered into records.


 

Friday night, an Officer initiated a traffic stop on an SUV because it had a defective brake light in the area of South Osage Avenue and West 4th Street. A check through Dispatch showed the driver had an active Pettis County warrant with a $7,500 cash or surety bond. (Note: Information on the warrant was not readily available in Casenet.) Timothy James Coterel, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where was booked.


 

Tuesday morning, Officers performed a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet car, as the vehicle did not have a front Missouri license plate, and the rear Missouri license plate was expired.  The traffic stop took place in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Moniteau Avenue.  Investigation revealed the driver did not have a driver's license, and was in possession of methamphetamine, as well as related paraphernalia. Sandara M. Hurd, 47, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour hold pending charges of Possession of a Dangerous Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without a Valid License. Bond and court dates are to be determined.
