Sedalia Police Reports For November 18, 2022

Thursday night, Officers stopped a Jeep that had illegal window tinting at the Break Time store, 318 West Broadway Boulevard. It was also suspected the driver's Missouri driving privileges were suspended. The driver was the suspect. William F. Fizer, 39 of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended. Fizer was taken to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released. About ten minutes later, a subject arrived to the store to pick up a juvenile, since the driver was being arrested. After an investigation, it was determined the subject who arrived to pick up the juvenile had driven to the location while intoxicated by drugs. Jessica N. Tackett, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs). Tackett was taken to a hospital, then the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released.

Late Thursday night, Officers conducted a subject check at the Harbor Freight, 1705 West Broadway Boulevard. After speaking with the subjects involved, one of the subjects gave a false name to Officers. After further investigation, a crystal substance was located and tested positive for methamphetamine. Jessica Lea Reed, 25, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for Identity Theft and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Reed also had a warrant for her arrest issued in September on felony charges of Receiving Stolen Property and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Device. Reed was placed on a 24 hour hold with bond to be determined.

Sedalia Police were patrolling in the area of the 700 block of West Broadway Boulevard Thursday afternoon when they were notified of a theft. Thomas B. Gable reported he observed a man get out of a vehicle and steal a package from the porch of one of the nearby residents. The suspect vehicle was later located, and the owner of the vehicle was questioned. The owner of the missing package could not be located at the time of the report. The investigation is on going.

Thursday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of East 14th Street for a call regarding an attempted scam. Officers gathered information for documentation.

On the morning of November 2nd, Officers spoke with Lisa Schroeder on the phone. She stated that on October 10th, she had been visiting her sister in the 1700 block of South Lamine Avenue. Her wallet came up missing. It is unknown at this time if the wallet was stolen or lost.

Wednesday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Buckner Court for an unknown disturbance. When Officers arrived, they contacted a couple that was arguing. It had appeared that their argument was physical prior to arrival. There was not enough evidence to determine a primary physical aggressor. Both parties left the scene after it was explained that a 12 hour log report would be done, and what that would consist of.

Sedalia Police responded to the Honey Bear Daycare, 3109 Aaron Avenue Thursday morning to investigate a report of property damage. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the complainant. She stated that sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, someone threw a rock through the front glass door of the daycare. The estimated value of the damage was set at $750. About a half an hour later, Officers responded to Dugan Paints, 3103 Erika Avenue, to investigate a similar property damage report. Officers were informed that a window belonging to the business had been shattered by a rock as well in the same overnight hours. The value of the window is set at approximately $750. An hour after that report, Officers responded to Bothwell TLC Pediatrics, 2925 Clinton Road. There were two exterior windows of the business that had been shattered overnight. The estimated value of that damage was set at $1500. Police also received a property damage report later that morning from the Wilson Toellner CPA Office, 2700 Matthew Drive. Someone had thrown a rock through a west window of their business as well. Photos were taken of the damage, which is estimated to cost $750 to repair. At this time, there are no known suspects.

On the night of November 3rd, members of the Crime Resolution Unit and the K9 Unit executed a narcotics search warrant in the 200 block of South Engineer Avenue. The subjects involved were found to be in possession of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia. Three subjects were arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Joey Douglas Hays, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested for Possession of a Dangerous Drug and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Timothy Paul Leary, 52, of Sedalia, was arrested for Trafficking Drugs in the 2nd Degree. Linzee Payge Rank, 27, of Sedalia, was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Trafficking Drugs in the 2nd Degree. Hays, Leary, and Rank were all transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on 24 hour hold, pending the filing of charges.

Sedalia Police responded to the Liberty Park, 1500 West 3rd Street, for a property damage report Wednesday morning. Officers spoke with park employees, who stated Christmas lights on the park's Train Depot were damaged. The value of the damage is estimated at $451.00. At the time of the report, a suspect has not been located.

On the morning of November 7th, Officers responded to the Police Department lobby to take a report of fraud. Officers met with Debra Manley, who stated she was scammed by someone over the phone for a $300 Apple gift card. At the time of the report, a suspect has not been identified.
