Sedalia Police Reports For May 26, 2021

Early Wednesday morning, Officers responded to the 2200 block of East 12th Street in reference to a medical call. The caller reported a female not breathing. Officers and PCAD personnel arrived and attempted life saving measures, but were not successful.

Officers stopped a car in the area of Maple Lane and West 6th Street Tuesday night for several moving violations. After an investigation, it was discovered that the driver was in possession of cocaine, THC wax, and drug paraphernalia. Tyler Nathaniel Tindell, 18, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24 hour hold. Officers are requesting a felony charge of Possession of Cocaine and misdemeanor charges of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Sedalia Police took a general information report Monday evening after a subject came into the lobby reporting messages that were sent to her Mother from her ex-boyfriend. The general information report was completed as documentation of the messages.

Monday night, Officers responded to the 600 block of East 14th Street for a drug offense. Officers seized the reported drugs and placed them into evidence for destruction.

Officers conducted a vehicle stop in the 600 block of West 16th Street for a vehicle that had failed to signal a turn Tuesday morning. Mason C. Michel, 21, of Knob Noster, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Michel was transported to the Bothwell Regional Health Center for a blood draw and then to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.

Tuesday evening, Tiffany N. Moore reported a burglary in the 400 block of Albright Court that occurred earlier that day. Property damage and theft was reported. Moore provided suspect information. Around $100 in cash was stolen, and the property damage was not valued at the time of the report.

Sedalia Police conducted a vehicle stop for defective headlights near the intersection of West Broadway and South State Fair Avenue Wednesday morning. Dispatch confirmed the driver had an active Failure to Appear warrant out of Pettis County on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a License. Michael Torres, 18, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was given a bond of $1,500 cash or surety.

Tuesday evening, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Main Street and Ohio Avenue, as the vehicle's owner had a warrant for their arrest. The warrant was confirmed, and Rhapsody S. Coffey, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Coffey is being held pending the Cooper County warrant for Speeding, with a $150 cash only bond.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of East 11th Street Tuesday morning for a report of property damage. When Officers arrived, they spoke with Dennis A. Roberts. Roberts stated that sometime overnight someone damaged the latch to his shed in the backyard and cut the plastic tarp covering his boat. The estimated total amount of damage was $75. There are no suspects at this time. Photos of the damage were taken and attached to the case.

Officers conducted a warrant check in the 2400 block of West 2nd Street Terrace Tuesday morning. The suspect's warrants were confirmed, and Chase A. Hayworth, 22, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail. Hayworth was booked on five Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Possession of Marijuana, Driving While Revoked, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle, and Driving Without a Seat Belt. Total bond is $1,150 cash only.

Tuesday morning, while on patrol, an Officer observed a vehicle driving with an expired temporary tag. Police stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver. After a check through Dispatch, it was confirmed the driver had a suspended license. Alexis Ojeda, 22, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released with a court date.

Tuesday afternoon, Officers took a report of a stolen firearm. Daniel Washington reported that someone took his pistol out of his unlocked car on May 23rd, while it was parked in the area of West 6th Street and South Barrett Avenue. There is no suspect information, and the firearm has been entered into MULES/NCIC as stolen.

On the morning of May 25th, Sedalia Police assisted the Department of Health and Senior Services with an investigation in the 1900 block of South Ohio Avenue. At this time, it is not believed any crime has been committed. The report was generated to document the contact.

Sedalia Police responded to the 1300 block of East 6th Street Monday afternoon for a subject check. On arrival, Officers met with a subject who was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. Officers were unable to locate any family that could pick him up or help take care of him. Chandler R. Haueter, 36, of Sedalia, was transported to the BRHC for a fit for confinement check. Haueter was then transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 12 hour hold for his safety.

Officers met with an employee of the Wal Mart store Tuesday morning in the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a theft. The employee stated a male subject made a fraudulent return of merchandise, and then walked out with other items he did not pay for. The theft totalled $181.26. The suspect was identified through security footage and state charges of Stealing are being requested.

Tuesday afternoon, Officers arrived to the intersection of Thompson Road and West Broadway Boulevard for a traffic stop conducted. Officers asked the subject to stop out of the vehicle and identify himself. Officers were informed that Todd C. Streb, 46, of Windsor, had an active Parole Violation warrant. The suspect was secured in handcuffs and searched. The only item on his person was his cell phone. The suspect was placed in the passenger back seat of the patrol car and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Streb's vehicle was not blocking the roadway, and was arranging for someone to come pick up the vehicle. Officer took Streb inside the jail and filled out the required paperwork to be booked for his Parole Violation warrant on original charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The staff took control of the subject.
