Sedalia Police Reports For May 15, 2023

Friday night, an SUV was stopped in the area of West 3rd Street and South State Fair Boulevard. The SUV was stopped because it was driving without headlights and it had also failed to stop before the stop line at the stop sign. The driver’s Missouri driving status was discovered to be revoked. J. Jesus Carlos Pascual, 60, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked. Pascual was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.

Sunday night, Officers contacted subjects in the parking lot of the Deer Brook Villas in the 900 block of Mitchell Road. One of the subjects, a driver, was intoxicated by drugs. Noah Dale Earnhart Quinn, 18, of Hollister Missouri, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs). Quinn was booked and released at the Pettis County Jail.

Sunday evening, Officers were dispatched to the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South New York Avenue for a traffic complaint involving a possibly intoxicated driver. Upon arrival, the subject was still in the area, trying to get to the Casey’s store across the street. Officers approached the subject at the Casey’s store, and conducted Standard Field Sobriety Testing. Juan M. Carlos, 51, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Carlos was then transported to the Police Department for a breath sample. Carlos was taken to the Pettis County Jail to be processed.

Sedalia Police stopped an SUV at the Econolodge, 3501 West Broadway Boulevard on Saturday night because it was driving without tail lights. The driver was intoxicated. Carlota Lombera, 38, of Kewanee Illinois, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. The charge was enhanced to a Class A Misdemeanor due to children less than 17 years of age travelling in the SUV with her. Lombera was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in for DWI, pending release to a sober person.

On April 14th, 2023, Officers responded to the Break Time store, 808 East Broadway Boulevard, for a report of theft. On the evening of May 14th, a person matching the description of the suspect was located near West Broadway Boulevard and South Carr Avenue. Based on evidence provided and admission of the individual committing the theft, he was placed under arrest without incident. Gerald Dewayne Anderson, 52, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in charges of Stealing. Anderson was later released with charges pending.

Officers were dispatched to the Woods Supermarket, 1400 South Limit Avenue Sunday evening, to address a trespassing report. Officers arrived on scene and confirmed the suspect’s identity. Officers then located the male subject, who was intoxicated by narcotics, and confirmed he had been trespassed from the store already. Mario Alberto Madrid, 40, Homeless, was placed under arrest for Burglary in in the 1st Degree. Madrid was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.

Sunday morning, a traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of South State Fair Boulevard and West 10th Street. The license plates on the vehicle were being displayed on the wrong vehicle, and did not belong to the vehicle owner. During the stop, the license plates on the vehicle were seized, and will be returned to the DOR.

Sedalia Police responded to the 2900 block of James Drive in reference to a domestic disturbance Sunday morning. A male and a female subject were identified and advised to Officers both were involved in a physical disturbance. Neither subject had injuries. No primary aggressor could be determined on scene. A 12-hour domestic disturbance log was made and an incident was documented in a report.

Last Wednesday afternoon, an Officer attempted to perform a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration near the area of East 13th Street and South Center Avenue. The vehicle evaded the Officer at a high rate of speed and was not pursued. An investigation determined the identity of the driver. A state charge of Driving While Revoked was submitted to the Prosecutor.

Saturday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle because it had no license plate lights. The traffic stop took place near West 6th Street and South Kentucky Avenue. The driver provided his name, and stated he did not have a driver’s license. Checking the information with Dispatch, the driver’s status was verified. Jairo Jose Funez, 19, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest and transported to the Police Department. There, he was booked an issued citations for No Proof of Insurance and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without A Valid License. Funez was given a court date and released.

Officers stopped a Jeep early Saturday morning in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Summit Avenue because it was failing to maintain its lane, and it was also weaving. The driver was found to be in possession of a stolen vehicle, methamphetamine, cocaine, Hydrocodone, and was also impaired by drugs. Dewayne D. Robinson, 40, Homeless, was placed under arrest. Robinson was booked in on charges of Tampering With a Motor Vehicle in the 1st Degree, Delivery of a Controlled Substance, two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine and Hydrocodone), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs).

Early Saturday morning, a motorcycle was observed traveling at an excessive rate of speed throughout Sedalia. It was evading law enforcement, driving through restricted areas of Police Property, and was also driving recklessly. The driver was eventually captured near the area of North 4th Street and South Vermont Avenue. Barry Jackson Monteer Jr., 25, of Sedalia, was arrested for two counts of Resisting Arrest, five counts of Assault in the 4th Degree (on a Law Enforcement Officer), Driving While Intoxicated, Excessive Speeding, ten counts of Failing to Stop at a Stop Sign, two counts of Trespassing in the 1st Degree, Careless Driving, and Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without a Valid License (Without Motorcycle Endorsement). Monteer was placed on a 24 hour hold.

Sedalia Police took a theft report Saturday night from Tyler Crutchfield. Crutchfield stated a firearm and a muffler were stolen while he was at Liberty Park. When he returned home, he noticed the items were missing from his motorbike. Information was collected, and a report was completed.

Saturday afternoon, Officer responded to the 300 block of East 24th Street regarding the theft of chickens. Patricia Garrett reported 12 Banty chickens had been taken between Friday night and Saturday morning. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers responded to the 900 block of Westwood Avenue Saturday afternoon in regards to a report of property damage and harassment. April Lashae Tyler reported that her vehicle had been damaged in the parking lot of the Sedalia Heights apartments. The total damage was estimated to be approximately $302.00.

Last Friday morning, Officers responded to the Motel 6, 3402 West Broadway Boulevard in Sedalia, in regards to a subject that had been identified inside the motel with active warrants for their arrest. Crystal Sheresa Tomasen Burton, 37, of the hotel, had two active Pettis County warrants for her arrest. Both warrants were Parole Violation warrants on original charges of Harassment in the 2nd Degree and Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree. Burton was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in on the warrants, with bond totaling at $2,000 cash and $250 cash only.

Sedalia Police responded to the 1400 block of South Park Avenue to check the welfare of a subject Saturday evening. Officers observed a subject with an active warrant out of the Lee’s Summit Police Department. Brandon Neely, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrant on original unspecified charges of Miscellaneous Controlled Substance (ORDIN.0-079Y20003599.0). Neely was transported to the Petits County Jail to be booked on the warrant, pending a cash only bond of $200.00.

On the night of May 12th, Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of East 4th Street for a report of a domestic disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, Officers determined a physical altercation had o occurred between the subjects, but a primary physical aggressor could not be determined. A 12-hour log was taken.

Friday evening, Sedalia Police responded to the 1800 block of South Washington Avenue for a report of damage to a property. Officers arrived on scene and located the alleged suspect in the front yard. The victim was contacted and advised Officers the suspect threw bricks through a window. The victim requested prosecution, and the suspect was arrested without incident. Keila Annette Quint, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested for Property Damage in the 2nd Degree. The property damage is valued at approximately $100.00.

Officers were dispatched to the Cenex gas station, 120 East 16th Street early Saturday morning for a report of assault. Investigation revealed the suspect assaulted the victim, and damaged his vehicle. He was also found to be in possession of Lysergic acid diethylamide 25 (LSD). Dustin M. Wilson, 39, of Green Ridge, was transported to the Pettis County Jail. Wilson was booked in on charges of Aggravated Assault in the 3rd Degree, Property Damage in the 2nd Degree, and Possession of a Dangerous Drug.

Late Friday night, a traffic stop was conducted near the area of West 16th Street and South Beacon Avenue. During the stop, the driver was found to have two active Sedalia Municipal warrants for their arrest. Deborah Renee Clark, 50, of Sedalia, was arrested for her FTA warrants on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without a Valid License and Speeding (20-25 MPH). Clark was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in pending a cash only bond of $254.00.

On the afternoon of May 9th, Adriana Juan came to the Police Headquarters to place a report of Forgery. Juan stated that her personal information had been used to open a Chase checking account. She stated she had not opened the account and did not authorize anyone to do so. A general information report was completed for documentation.
