Early Friday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of West 20th Street and South Stewart Avenue. Officers found the passenger of the vehicle had an active Pettis County warrant from 2021 for Failure to Appear on original charges of Speeding (20-25 MPH). Lukas Soumwei, 52, of Sedalia, was arrested for his warrant and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked with a cash only bond of $231.00. The driver, Matilde Escarate, 37, of Sedalia, had a Pettis County Failure to Appear warrant out of La Monte on original charges of Speeding (16-19 MPH), and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Escarate was also arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked with a bond set at $150 cash or surety.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of West 13th Street and South Osage Avenue early Friday morning. The driver of the vehicle was found to have an active Pettis County warrant for Failure to Appear on original charges of Failure to Wear a Seat Belt and Speeding in a Construction Zone (6-10 MPH). Emily D. Wilkes, 42, of Sedalia, was arrested on her warrant and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Wilkes was booked in pending a cash or surety bond of $1,000.00.


 

Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Winchester Avenue and West 16th Street Thursday morning. The stop was conducted because the vehicle had failed to maintain its lane of travel. During the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he refused to provide a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained, and the suspect was transported to the BRHC, where a blood draw was conducted. Alden Joe Harding, 24, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in on charges of Driving While Intoxicated.

Early Friday morning, Officers responded to the Break Time store, 318 West Broadway Boulevard, to investigate a report of trespassing. After an on-scene investigation, one male was arrested. Gabriel Arthur Laclair, 42, Homeless, was booked at the Pettis County Jail, then released with a citation for Trespassing.


 

On the afternoon of May 10th, Officers spoke with Cameron Smith over the phone in reference to theft. Smith advised his wallet was stolen from the State Fair Eagle Stop, 1515 Thompson Boulevard. Smith said suspects charged several thousand dollars to his credit and debit devices. At the time of the report, the suspect has not been identified.


 

Wednesday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 3100 block of Wing Avenue to conduct a warrant check. Brandon J. Silva, 28, of Sedalia, was arrested for his felony Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Domestic Assault in the 2nd Degree out of Jackson County. Silva was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in, pending a $10,000 cash or surety bond.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a forgery report Wednesday afternoon. Edward G. Marshall stated his ex-wife transferred utility services that were in his name without his permission, resulting in a $298.00 bill.


 

Officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of West 16th Street and South Vermont Avenue Wednesday afternoon. Brittany N. Miller, 31, of Sedalia, was arrested on felony charges of Driving While Revoked. Miller was transported to the Pettis County jail to be booked and released.


 

Thursday morning, an Officer was dispatched to speak with Michael Parks over the phone in regards to a theft report. Parks stated he had ordered a Nintendo Switch and a phone charger through Amazon. Parks stated the tracking number showed it was delivered to somewhere in Sedalia, instead of the correct Marshall address.
