This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department crime reports. Tuesday morning, an SUV was stopped in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Crockett Avenue because it was speeding. The SUV was traveling at 117 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. Earl D. Scroggins, 47, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs), Excessive Speeding, and Careless Driving. Scroggins was taken to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in on state charges.


Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Kentucky Avenue Monday evening for a report of animal neglect. A former resident of the address had moved days prior, and had left a dog behind. A charge of animal neglect is being requested.


Wednesday evening, Officers responded to the area of West 13th Street and South Grand Avenue for reports of a traffic crash. While on scene, Officers discovered one of the drivers did not have a valid license. Victalina Martinez-Figueroa, 39, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving Without A Valid License. The vehicle was towed from the scene, and the driver was booked and released at the Pettis County Jail.


Tuesday afternoon, Officers responded to a verbal disturbance in the 600 block of West 2nd Street. After a short investigation of an ongoing issue, a suspect was located and arrested. David Bryan Borgstadt Jr., 35, of Sedalia, was arrested for Harassment to Frighten or Disturb Another Person. Borgstadt was booked in at the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.


Sedalia Police responded to the Moore’s Green House, 3311 Green Ridge Road Tuesday morning for a report of vehicle theft. On arrival, Officers met with Dale R. Sims, who stated their 2007 Dodge Charger was stolen from the business. At the time of the report, a suspect has not been located. The vehicle has been entered into MULES as stolen.


Monday afternoon, Officers spoke to a victim at the Police Headquarters in reference to a possible stalking report. The victim reported that a subject known to her had been tracking her. She had located a tracker in her vehicle a week ago while in the 3100 block of South Ohio Avenue.


Officers responded to the 2400 block of South Ohio Avenue for a report of a disturbance Monday evening. Officers contacted a male subject, who was intoxicated by alcohol and/or drugs. He was experiencing suicidal ideation. The subject was taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.


On the evening of April 4th, Detectives with the Crime Resolution Unit became aware of a plot to ship methamphetamine to New Hampshire. A package containing methamphetamine was intercepted, and the suspect was taken to custody in New Hampshire. State charges of Delivery of a Controlled Substance are being requested.
