Wednesday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to signal a turn, and was failing to maintain its lane. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Gordon R. Heskett, 51, of Central City Nebraska, was transported to the SPD. There, Heskett provided a breath sample that showed his blood alcohol concentration was above 0.08. Heskett was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released pending charges for Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender).


 

On the night of February 27th, Officers assisted on a traffic stop near the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Mildred Avenue. The vehicle had been stopped for an equipment violation. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Trevor Thomas Rialti, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the BRHC for a blood draw. Rialti was then transported to the Pettis County Jail. Rialti was booked and released pending charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs).


 

Sedalia Police observed a vehicle travelling south on Thompson Boulevard Thursday morning with expired registration. A traffic stop was conducted at Thompson Boulevard and West 16th Street. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Jaron Marquel Hensley, 24, of Sedalia, was transported to the SPD. There, Hensley provided a breath sample that showed his blood alcohol concentration was above 0.08. Hensley was issued a UTT with a court date and released to a sober driver pending charges of Driving While Intoxicated.


 

Officers initiated a traffic stop on a motorcycle Wednesday night in the area of West Main Street and South Kentucky Avenue for a lane violation. Two motorcycles stopped. One of the riders (who was not named in the report) was found to be a multiple time convicted felon who was also in possession of a firearm. The firearm was seized, and due to the circumstances of the stop, charges will be submitted to the Pettis County Prosecutor.


 

Thursday afternoon, Officers responded to the Snip N Clip, 3137 West Broadway Boulevard, for a report of forgery. Officers made contact with a female subject, who reported that a male suspect had used a counterfeit bill to pay for services at her business.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 300 block of East 26th Street Thursday morning for trash that had been thrown on the caller's property. Officers made contact with Mark Bergman, who said a vehicle had driven through on Wednesday night and tossed out multiple trash bags in the alley and ditches next to his house. Bergman wished to pursue charges.


 

Wednesday evening, Officers conducted a subject check at the Truman Inn, 3501 West Broadway Boulevard. A computer check of the subject showed he had several active warrants. Dustin C. Cox, 40, of Independence, was arrested on his warrants on original charges of Driving While Revoked, Speeding, Failure to Yield to An Emergency Vehicle With Lights Flashing, Interfering with Approaching Traffic, Receiving Stolen property, and felony Tampering With a Motor Vehicle in the 1st Degree. When the warrants were confirmed, Cox was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail with a total bond of $17,500.
