Sedalia Police Reports for June 9, 2021

Early Wednesday morning, Sedalia Police observed a dark colored truck eastbound on West Broadway Boulevard. The truck was weaving and swerved over the dashed white line in the area of South Sneed Avenue. The truck turned onto northbound South Grand Avenue and continued to weave. Officers initiated a traffic stop on it in the area of West 6th Street and South Grand Avenue. After an investigation, it was determined that the driver was intoxicated. Mark Jerome Boyce, 56, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Boyce was transported to the Sedalia Police Headquarters, and then the Pettis County Jail to be booked in on a 24 hour hold on a state Class C Felony Driving While Intoxicated (Chronic Offender) charge.

Sedalia Police initiated an investigative traffic stop on an SUV where the owner's driving status was listed as suspended, near South Harrison Avenue and Wilkerson Street Tuesday night. A check through Dispatch showed the driver was the owner, and his license status was suspended. Isidro Aguliera Matacua, 27, of Sedalia, was arrested, transported to the Police Department, fingerprinted, and issued a city ticket for Driving While Suspended with a court date.

Tuesday evening, Officers were dispatched to a traffic complaint near the Lowe's store, 3811 West Broadway Boulevard. Officers came into contact with a vehicle that matched the description the caller gave. The vehicle was stopped for failing to maintain its lane. Brandy J. Stuteville, 43, of Independence, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Suspended, and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. Stuteville was then transported to the Pettis County Jail to be held awaiting release to a sober person.

Sedalia Police observed an SUV driving eastbound on East Broadway Boulevard Tuesday night. The SUV came outside of its lane several times and the driver littered, throwing a cigarette butt out of the window. Officers initiated a traffic stop on it in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Thompson Avenue. A DOR check of the driver revealed she was suspended out of Kansas. Elisa L. Edwards, 47, of Prairie Village Kansas, was arrested and released on the scene with a municipal court summons for Driving While Suspended.

Tuesday night, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a car for expired registration. A check through Dispatch showed the driver had an active Cooper County warrant, and the passenger had an active Pettis County warrant. There was an odor of marijuana coming from the car. Officers searched it and found marijuana. Tayian Lynn Nicole Williams, 19, of Sedalia, was arrested and booked on her Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and was issued a city summons of Possession of Marijuana. James Darrel Yount, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle on a Highway Without a Valid License. Both Williams and Yount were transported to the Pettis County Jail. Bond on the FTA warrant for Williams was $300 cash only. Bond on the FTA warrant for Yount was set at $200 cash only.

Sedalia Police performed a traffic stop Tuesday night on a silver Nissan as the vehicle did not have a front license plate. The traffic stop took place in the area of West 16th Street and South Moniteau Avenue. Officers spoke to the driver, and then performed a computer check through Dispatch. It was learned the driver had a suspended license. Brian Keith Mumby, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.

Tuesday night, a traffic stop was conducted by Officers in the area of the 1300 block of South Ohio. A computer check revealed the driver was suspended. Daniel Allen Pritchard, 44, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department for processing. Pritchard was released pending city charges of Driving While Suspended.

Sedalia Police responded to the 200 block of Thompson Road for a warrant check Tuesday afternoon. A computer check through Dispatch confirmed him to have an active warrant out of Benton County on charges of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Roger G. Sicore, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where his bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety.

Tuesday afternoon, Officers met with Wal Mart asset protection in regards to a theft that occurred on June 6th. A female entered the store and concealed $294.66 worth of merchandise and left the store with no attempt to pay. At the time of the report, a suspect has not been located.

Sedalia Police responded to the 3400 block of South Park Avenue Monday afternoon for a disturbance. Contact was made with the two participants in the disturbance. It was determined the disturbance was only verbal. During contact, one of the subjects was found to have an active arrest warrant. Alexander J. Landis, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrant out of Linn County on original charges of Failing to Display Proper License Plates. Landis was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $99 cash only bond.

Tuesday morning, Officers responded to the 1600 block of West 3rd Street in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with Edward Smith. Smith stated that sometime in the overnight, his Honda CRF50 dirtbike was stolen from his residence.

Monday afternoon, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 100 block of South Harding Avenue in regard to a possible trespassing report. While there, Officers saw two subjects walking in the field in front of the old factory building. Officers contacted the subjects, who stated they were out looking around. The owner of the property noted that the building had been deemed dangerous by the city, and no one should be on the property, which is why the gate to get in was locked (the subjects had stepped over the locked gate to gain access). The owner stated they wanted to pursue charges. Yuliya Yuriyivna Kalashnykova, 19, of Sedalia, and Allison Marie Payne, 21, of Florence, were arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where they were booked and released for Trespassing in the 1st Degree.

Monday morning, Officers responded to the 900 block of Winchester Avenue for a report of theft from a construction site. On arrival, Officers spoke with Marshall A. Millsap, the contractor. Millsap stated that someone cut the locks of the equipment trailer and stole various power tools. At the time of the report, the value of the theft is unknown. A suspect has not been identified.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the area of the Woods Express store, 703 East Broadway, Monday afternoon in regard to an unattended child. The child's mother was located and stated that the child had gotten out through the back. A report was taken to document the incident and a hotline call was made with the Children's Division.

Tuesday evening, Officers performed an investigative traffic stop on a green Jeep Liberty near West 18th Street and South Sneed Avenue. The registered owner over the vehicle showed to be revoked. A computer check through Dispatch of the driver, Edrlberta Nandho, 39, of Sedalia, showed her to have no operator's status. Nandho was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department to be fingerprinted. Nandho was issued a municipal court date and released.

Monday afternoon, a reporting party wanted to report incidents that occurred within another jurisdiction. No crime was committed within the City of Sedalia. Informational report only.

Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West Pettis Street for a warrant check Monday afternoon. Officers were advised the suspect was in another location. When an Officer arrived at the secondary location, the suspect fled. The suspect was caught in the 100 block of South Park. The warrants for Parole Violation, and two felony Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of felony Violation of an Order Of Protection were confirmed. Edward Garnel Marshall, 47, Homeless, was taken into custody on the two FTA warrants, the Parole Violation warrant, and a charge of Resisting Arrest. The two Failure to Appear warrants carry a cash or surety bond of $5,000 each.
