Sunday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle because its registration was expired. While speaking with the driver, Officers noticed the driver appeared to be impaired. After investigation, the driver was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs). Derek Scott Grimm, 39, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released to a sober person.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the Casey's store, 3050 South Limit Avenue Sunday morning in reference to found property. The business had collected several debit cards and identification cards and wanted to turn them in. Some of the items were returned to their owners, and the remainder were placed into evidence as found property.


 

Sunday afternoon, Officers responded to the 800 block of East 4th Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. One subject had marks on their leg, but refused medical treatment. Officers were unable to determine a primary physical aggressor. A report was made to document the incident for a 12 hour domestic violence log.


 

Officers conducted a traffic stop Saturday night on a vehicle for speeding in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Babcock Avenue. During the stop, a computer check revealed the driver had a suspended driving status. Orlando Miguel Rodriguez, 22, of Sedalia was arrested for Driving While Suspended. Rodriguez was released on the scene with a summons.


 

On the night of June 24th, Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation in the area of West 10th Street and South Barrett Avenue. The operator was found to have a revoked driver's license. Earl Michael Moon, 46, of Sedalia was placed under arrest for Driving While Revoked without incident. Moon was transported to the Pettis County Jail for processing, then booked and released.


 

Saturday night, Officers observed a red Ford F150 with a non functioning headlight driving east on East Broadway Boulevard. Officers initiated a traffic stop at the Cork N Bottle, 3806 East Broadway Boulevard. Officers made contact with the two subjects in the vehicle. The suspect stated he did not have a valid license, believing it to be suspended. The driver's license was revoked. Kyle W. Wissman, 34, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail for Driving While Revoked.

Friday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Hibbett Sports store, 3115 West Broadway Boulevard, for a report of shoplifting. When Officers arrived, they made contact with McKinnley R. Long. Long reported that two African American females entered the store and grabbed an armful of clothes each, then ran out of the store. They reportedly got into a light blue Hyundai Elantra and then travelled west on US 50 Highway. At the time of the report, the suspects had not been identified. Staff reported an estimated $400 worth of merchandise was taken in the incident.


 

Sedalia Police, Fire, and PCAD responded to the 1000 block of East 10th Street Saturday morning in reference to a possible cardiac arrest. The subject was later pronounced deceased. The subject was transported by Moore Funeral Home at the request of the family. No signs of foul play are suspected at this time.


 

Officers responded to the area of East 20th Street and South Summit Avenue Friday morning for a report of found property. On arrival, Officers spoke with John Foote. Foote reported a bike was located in the roadway. The owner of the bike is unknown. It was collected and transported to the Sedalia Police Department and placed into found property.


 

Saturday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department to speak with a subject who wanted to report a theft. When Officers arrived, they spoke with Nathan W. Powers. Powers stated that on Thursday, someone had stolen $60 and three credit cards from his wallet, that had been locked into a locker at the Heckart Community Center, 1800 West 3rd Street. The credit cards were reported to have been used to make purchases at the center, and online. There are no suspects at the time of the report.


 

Friday night, Officers took a report of harassment from the lobby of the Police Department. A subject made threats to acquire a firearm and return to the Embassy Men's Shelter, 602 South Moniteau Avenue, to harm people. The subject is under investigation at this time.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the Break Time store, 318 West Broadway Boulevard Friday night for a report of a female sleeping on the side of the building. When Officers arrived, they recognized the female. After confirming that she was trespassed from the Break Time store, she was placed under arrest. Judith Leigh Denney, 55, Homeless, was placed under arrest for Trespassing in the 1st Degree and transported to the Pettis County Jail.


 

Officers responded to the 1000 block of South State Fair Boulevard Friday night for a medical call. When Officers arrived, contact was made with the patient. The patient was found deceased inside the apartment. The Pettis County Coroner was contacted, who came to the scene and took possession of the body.


 

Friday night, Officers performed an investigative stop on a Ford Edge as the registered owner of the vehicle showed a revoked driving license in Missouri. The traffic stop took place in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and Industrial Drive. The registered owner was found to be operating the vehicle. Officers spoke with the driver and confirmed the revoked status. Nadelene B. Meseky, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked. Meseky was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released.


 

Sedalia Police performed a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet truck Friday night, as the vehicle had an improper and expired license plate. The traffic stop took place in the area of South Hancock Avenue and East 6th Street. Officers spoke with the driver and a single passenger, and performed a computer check. Officers spoke with the driver and confirmed they had a revoked driving status. Gary Gene Brown Jr., 52, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked. Brown was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was fingerprinted, photographed, booked and released. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the license plate was seized to be returned to DOR.


 

Officers responded to the Break Time store, 808 East Broadway Boulevard, for a physical domestic disturbance Friday night. A primary physical aggressor was determined. Dominique J. Taylor, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested for Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree. Taylor was taken to the Pettis County Jail to be held pending the charge.


 

Friday evening, Officers responded to the 1500 block of South Barrett Avenue for a report of a runaway juvenile. When Officers arrived, contact was made with Carlazer M. Quinn. Information was collected, and a report was completed. The juvenile's information was entered by Dispatch as a runaway/missing juvenile.
