Sedalia Police Reports For June 25, 2021

Wednesday evening, Officers spoke with an employee of Wal Mart in the Police Department lobby. The employee stated a subject who was trespassed from the store had been in the store earlier in the day. The suspect was identified, but not located. Charges of Trespassing are being requested.
Sedalia Police responded to the 1900 block of South Missouri Thursday afternoon for a report of a disturbance. When Officers arrived, they made contact with Erica Lynn McGaugh, who stated that approximately 10 to 15 individuals were on her property harassing her. The incident is being investigated.
Early Thursday morning, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of West 32nd Street and Erika Avenue for no registration displayed. Upon contact with the driver, he refused to get out of the vehicle and fled from the stop. The vehicle was not pursued by Officers. The vehicle and the male subject were later located in the area of McCurdy Lane by Pettis County Deputies. The vehicle was later discovered to be stolen out of Johnson County. Jeffery Eugene Tyler, 32, Homeless, was arrested for Tampering With a Motor Vehicle in the 1st Degree and felony Resisting Arrest. Tyler was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour hold pending the filing of state charges.
Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Police Station lobby for a report of theft Thursday afternoon. Upon arrival, Officers met with Matthew D. Sartain, who stated that he was made aware of some fraudulent charges on his bank account that took place on June 13th. Sartain stated that the charges were made in Georgia and totaled $1,250.
Thursday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Harrison Avenue. A computer check of the driver showed his driver's license was revoked. Juan Nandho-Paulino, 45, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released pending state charges of Driving While Revoked.
Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Amtrak Station, 108 West Pacific Street Thursday morning in reference to a property damage report. Someone damaged one of the historic benches inside of the station.
Officers responded to a call of suspicious activity in the area of North Moniteau Avenue and West Jefferson Street Thursday morning. Upon investigation, a subject was located that had an active warrant from the Office of Probation and Parole. Jeffrey L. Waters, 56, Homeless, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked for the warrant. The warrant had no bond and a court date is to be determined.
Thursday afternoon, Officers responded to the Menards store, 4400 Wisconsin Avenue, in regards to a theft that had occurred on May 28th, 2021. The suspect stole $2,376.28 worth of merchandise, but the merchandise was recovered.
Sedalia Police took a report in the lobby of the Police Department in regards to theft and forgery Thursday afternoon. The reporting party stated that someone had taken a check from them and attempted to deposit it. The check was valued at $3,279.00.
