Wednesday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after identifying the driver as someone with an active warrant for their arrest. The stop was conducted in the area of East 4th Street and South Washington Avenue. After stopping the vehicle, Officers confirmed the active warrant for Failing to Appear on original charges of Property Damage in the 2nd Degree. A search of the driver was conducted, and Officers located substances that later field tested positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl. Ronnie Delane Johnson, 47, of Sedalia, was arrested for his warrant and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Johnson was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold on the drug charges, pending a $250 cash only bond on the FTA warrant.

Sedalia Police took a theft report from Emmy V. Tsymbal Wednesday evening. The theft had occurred on June 9th in the 900 block of Winchester Drive. The victim reported two packages containing clothing were stolen from the front steps of her building. The items were valued at $174.00.


 

On the evening of June 10th, Officers were notified of a private property accident at the First Christian Church of Sedalia, 916 Thompson Boulevard. Sara Lyles, the owner of a blue in color 2021 Toyota Avalon, reported that sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. the back side of the Toyota was damaged in the parking lot. The investigation is ongoing.
