Tuesday evening, Officers conducted a warrant check in the 1500 block of South Quincy Avenue. Officers contacted the suspect, checked his information with Dispatch, and confirmed he had two active warrants with bond amounts. Zachary Lucas Dewitt, 33, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrants from Pettis and Platte Counties from 2022 on original charges of Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle. Dewitt was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked, pending a cash only bond of $250.00.


 

Officers responded to the Hampton Inn, 3909 West 9th Street Tuesday evening in reference to a suicidal subject. Officers made contact with the male subject inside his room. The subject was transported by PCAD to the Bothwell Regional Health Center.


 

Early Wednesday morning, Officers were dispatched to the area near Housel Park for a subject check. When Officers arrived, they contacted a suspect who was highly intoxicated. Jesse Robert Smith, 56, Homeless, was transported to the BRHC for a fit for confinement check. After passing, Smith was taken to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 12-hour safekeeping hold.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 1400 block of South Carr Avenue for a report of a disturbance Tuesday night. Officers contacted three subjects involved in the disturbance. One of these subjects had several warrants for his arrest. Don Charles Soriano Palmerin Jr., 23, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Revoked, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Assault in the 4th Degree. Palmerin was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on his warrants, which carried a cash only bond of $2,118.50.


 

Tuesday evening, the Pettis County Joint Communications received a call from a man who believed he was in possession of a fake $20 bill at the Casey’s store, 1601 East Broadway Boulevard. The bill was placed into evidence, and a general information report was completed.


 

Officers observed a vehicle swerving on South Limit Avenue in the midnight hour Monday. The vehicle was observed on South Limit Avenue, and was stopped at West 9th Street on South Limit Avenue. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated and discovered he had two outstanding warrants from Pettis County. Julian Michael Shukers, 22, of Warrensburg, was arrested for his two Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Expired Plates and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility as well as a charge of Driving While Intoxicated. Shukers was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC to be above 0.08. Shukers was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked, pending a cash only bond of $236.00.


 

Monday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East 15th Street to investigate a report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival, Officers contacted Moses Barrett, who works for Twin Oaks. Barrett stated that he was attacked by one of his clients. While Officers were speaking to the victim, the suspect walked over to the victim’s vehicle and kicked it, leaving a large dent in the passenger side door.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, for a report of property damage Tuesday morning. Shannon L. Hagedorn stated that sometime while she was shopping inside the store, someone keyed her vehicle. The store’s security camera footage is being reviewed.


 

Tuesday morning, Officers were dispatched to a theft report in the 800 block of East 3rd Street. Andrea N. Gergovska stated that in the overnight hours, someone stole $300 in cash from the residence.


 

Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of West 18th Street in reference to found property Tuesday afternoon. The unnamed caller located a bicycle on her property between her home and a shed. The bicycle was transported back to the Sedalia Police Department and entered into evidence for safekeeping.


 

Monday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Katy Park in reference to an illegal disposal of solid waste. On June 11th, a couple witnessed a male subject dispose of several pieces of furniture into a roll off dumpster located within the park.


 

Tuesday morning, Christopher M. Bosworth came into the Police Station to report found property. The property was found in the area of North Ohio Avenue and East Jefferson Street. There was no further information about the property or its value in the report. About an hour later, Bosworth returned to the lobby to turn in a key he located in a ditch in the 1600 block of East 7th Street. The key has been placed into evidence.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the area of the 100 block of West 10th Street Tuesday afternoon to investigate a report of a suspicious person, in reference to a subject with a warrant for their arrest. Officers made contact with the subject near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Ohio Street. John D. Muntean, 38, of Sedalia, was arrested for his two Pettis County warrants on charges of felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree and felony Property Damage in the 1st Degree. Muntean was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a cash or surety bond of $22, 500.

Officers were dispatched to a report of an assault that occurred in the 400 block of North Hurley Avenue Monday afternoon. The victim stated his girlfriend’s daughter attacked him after he accidentally broke a truck window while loading car rims into the back of the truck. The victim was bleeding from several places on his face, however, he refused treatment from Paramedics. The suspect was located at another location and arrested. Savannah L. O’Malley, 21, of Smithton, was arrested for felony Assault in the 3rd Degree. O’Malley was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.
