Early Friday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of West Main Street and Winchester Drive for a license violation. A passenger in the vehicle was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine. Charity Rachae Dixon, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested for Possession of a Dangerous Drug.


Officers responded to the 500 block of West Johnson Street in reference to a vehicle check last Saturday morning. Officers made contact with and identified a female subject that was yelling and being uncooperative. Tyesha Lynette Peck, 30, Homeless, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Peck was issued with municipal citations for Loud Noise and Resisting Arrest.


Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop early Friday morning near the intersection of North Engineer Avenue and East Howard Street for a license violation. A passenger in the vehicle had an active warrant for their arrest. Edward J. Chain, 63, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Prior Offender) warrant and given a cash only bond of $250.


Wednesday evening, Officers conducted a vehicle stop at the Applebee's restaurant, 3320 West Broadway Boulevard. The subjects were identified and run through Dispatch, and the driver was confirmed to have a suspended driving status. Earnest L. Brown, 39, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Brown was issued municipal citations for Driving While Suspended and Expired Registration.


Sedalia Police responded to the 1500 block of South Osage Avenue Thursday night in reference to a property damage report. Harley A. Burton reported that someone damaged the residence's window and backdoor. The estimate value of the damage was set at $1500.


Friday morning, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation. During the course of contact with the driver, he allowed a search of his person. He was found to be in possession of marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Stewart W. Kimbrell, 48, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Kimbrell was placed on a 24 hour hold pending state charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.


Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a black BMW for not property displaying a registration plate Thursday night. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered the driver had two Failure to Appear warrants for Livingston County. The warrants were confirmed and Tracy Nicole Moseley, 43, of Cole Camp, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Total bond on the warrants was set at $725 cash only. Original charges on the Failure to Appear warrants were Possession of a License Plate Belonging to Another Person, Failure to Wear a Seat Belt, and Operating a Motor Vehicle owned by Another Person While Knowing the Owner Failed to Maintain Financial Responsibility.


Thursday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of South Moniteau Avenue for a violation of a court order report. Marcella L. Spahr reported the suspect that she has an active full order of protection against was knocking on her door. The suspect was identified, but not located. Charges of Violation of a Court Order are being requested.


Last Friday night, Sedalia Police were dispatched to an accident that occurred at the Break Time store, 808 East Broadway Boulevard. When Officers arrived, they spoke with Kelsey Leeann Raines, who said a vehicle had backed into her SUV as she was pulling in the parking lot and then left the area. No arrests have been made at this time.


Officers were dispatched to Vermont Park for a property damage report early Thursday morning. An unknown suspect broke a soap dispenser and scattered paper towels throughout the bathrooms.


On the afternoon of June 9th, Sedalia Police took a report of alleged kidnapping and attempted sexual assault that took place at the Best Western Motel, 2125 West Broadway Boulevard, on June 6th. On June 10th, the suspect was found, interviewed, and arrested. Kyle N. Richard, 36, Homeless, was transported to the Pettis County Jail, whereupon he was booked to be held for 24 hours pending charges of Burglary in the 1st Degree, Kidnapping in the 3rd Degree, Sexual Abuse in the 2nd Degree, and Stealing.


Wednesday night, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3300 block of South Limit Avenue for an equipment violation. Upon contact with the driver, he was identified to Dispatch and discovered to have an active probation violation warrant issued out of Clay County on original charges of Attempted Property Damage in the 1st Degree. The warrant provided no bond. Thelarn Alexander Shields, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.


Thursday afternoon, Sedalia Police responded to the Office of Probation and Parole in regards to a subject check. The subject had an active warrant for their arrest and were arrested at the scene. Larry Gordon McGinnis, 53, of Sedalia, was arrested for his felony Failure to Appear warrant and transported to the Pettis County Jail with a bond of $2,000 cash only.


Officers conducted a traffic stop near the Dollar General store, 713 East Broadway Boulevard Thursday afternoon. The driver's information was provided to dispatchers who confirmed he had two active warrants from Pettis County for Failure to Appear on original charges of Failing to Maintain Financial Responsibility, Operating a Vehicle on a Highway Without a Valid License, and Failure to Properly Affix License Plates on a Vehicle. Cody J. Hicks, 31, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was given a total bond of $400 cash only.


Thursday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a passenger car in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and Winchester Road for no vehicle registration. Officers made contact with the driver of the vehicle and informed her of the reason for the stop. Officers then requested the occupant's information. The driver of the vehicle had a valid driving status and no warrants, but one of her passengers had a Failure to Appear warrant out of Pettis County on original charges of Identity Theft. Christina M. Carlock, 33, of Sedalia, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where she was given a bond of $250 cash only with a court date to be determined.


Sedalia Police conducted a check on a vehicle in the 1800 block of West 4th Street Wednesday morning. A subject in the vehicle was found to have marijuana in their possession. The marijuana was seized and Tyler Nathaniel Tindell, 18, of Sedalia, was issued a summons for Possession of Marijuana with a court date.


Wednesday morning, an Officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of South Grand Avenue and West 20th Street. The driver's information was provided to dispatchers, who confirmed he had two active warrants from Pettis County. Chad Nathan Jamerson, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Failure to Drive on the Right Side of the Road, and Failure to Secure a Child Under the Age of Eight in a Child Restraint. Jamerson was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was given a bond of $193 cash only.


Wednesday morning, the Pettis County Children's Division notified the Sedalia Police Department of a possible sexual assault to a minor child that occurred three years ago in the 200 block of Scott Joplin Court. The case is still under investigation.


Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of West Saline Street and Veterans Memorial Drive on a vehicle for speeding Wednesday afternoon. One of the passengers was arrested for a Pettis County warrant. Marquoi D. Staten, 29, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail on her Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Possession of Marijuana and given a bond of $1500 surety.
