Sedalia Police Reports For January 31, 2022

Saturday night, Officers were dispatched to the Bothwell Regional Hospital in reference to a domestic assault that occurred in the 500 block of South Ohio Avenue. The suspect was identified, but has not been spoken to at this time.

Saturday afternoon, Officers responded to the Bothwell Regional Health Center for a subject that was trespassing. Officer made contact with the subject, and advised him if he did not leave, he would be arrested. The subject continued to refuse to leave. Caleb Paul Bartlett, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked on charges of Trespassing in the 1st Degree. Later that evening, Police were dispatched to the Woods Express, 703 East Broadway Boulevard for a report of a trespassing incident. Bartlett was identified and arrested for charges of Trespassing in the 1st Degree.

Sunday evening, Officers were dispatched to the area of South Grand Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard to assist with a traffic stop. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Stormy J. Drollinger, 24, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. There, he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC was above 0.08. Drollinger was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released. A request for the charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender), has been submitted to the prosecutor.

Early Sunday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle for speeding in the 2400 block of West Main Street. Contact was made with the driver, and his information was ran through Dispatch. Dispatch advised that the driver was revoked. Dispatch advised that he also had Failure to Appear warrants for Driving While Suspended and Expired Plates. Earnest L. Brown Jr., 40, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Brown was booked and released. Charges of Careless Driving, Driving While Suspended, and Failure to Comply with a Required Interlock Device are being submitted to the prosecutor.

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on West Main Street near North State Fair Boulevard Saturday night on a vehicle with expired registration. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Isidro Romero, 18, of Sedalia, was transported to the Police Department, where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC to be above 0.08. Romero was issued a UTT for Driving While Intoxicated with court date, before being released to a sober driver.

Sunday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to a disturbance no longer in progress in the 2500 block of Margaret Avenue. Both parties, however, were still present. Officers met with the two females, and the females admitted to having struck each other, but with differing stories. Due to a conflict in the stories, Officers were unable to determine who was the primary aggressor. Officers documented the assault between the two females. Neither wanted to press charges. A report for Disturbing the Peace was made.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on a truck that was not displaying registration plates early Saturday morning. The stop took place in the area of West Henry Street and South Osage Avenue. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Joseph R. Hogan, 20, of Otterville, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. There, he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC was above 0.08. Hogan was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released. A request for the charge of Driving While Intoxicated has been submitted to the prosecutor.

Early Sunday morning, a car was stopped in the area of South Grand Avenue and West 17th Street for several moving violations and expired license plates. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Jessica L. Griffin, 35, of Sedalia, was arrested, taken to the Police Department, a Hospital, and then to the Pettis County Jail. Griffin was booked in on a state charge of Driving While Intoxicated and placed on a 12 hour protective custody hold.

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop near the area of West Broadway Boulevard and Thompson Boulevard on a truck that Officers observed driving partially in the turn lane late Friday night. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Randy Lee Thomas, 49, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Thomas refused to provide a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained and Thomas was transported to the BRHC for a blood draw. Once the blood draw was conducted, Thomas was transported to the Pettis County Jail. There, he was booked and released pending charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Persistent Offender).

Sunday morning, Officers responded to the 1000 block of East 3rd Street in reference to a warrant check. The suspect called to turn himself in. Officers made contact with the suspect and confirmed his identity. The suspect's information was run through Dispatch and confirmed to have an active warrant out of Pettis County for felony Driving While Intoxicated with a $7500 cash or surety bond. Joseph Kulian, 34, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked on the warrant.

Sedalia Police stopped a car in the area of West 4th Street and South Missouri Avenue Sunday morning. The car had failed to stop prior to a stop line, and failed to stop at another stop sign. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Orlando M. Rodriguez, 21, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest, transported to the Sedalia Police Department, and then released to wait for a sober driver. Charges of Driving While Intoxicated and Disobeying a Stop Sign are pending.

Friday evening, Officers responded to the Wood's East Pharmacy, 701 E Broadway Boulevard for a report of a forgery. Contact was made with a female subject, who reported that a male subject tried to pick up medication with a forged prescription form.

Sunday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of North Grand Avenue for a report of found property. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with Sam Davisson, who stated he received a package from Wal Mart. The package contained a bottle of ketchup. Davisson said he never ordered the item, and thought it was part of a scam that was going on involving his address. The item was taken and placed into found property.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 200 block of South Prospect for a report of property damage. Upon arrival, Officers met with Larry S. Quick, who stated that sometime during the overnight someone ran into the fence behind his house. Quick believed that this was done on purpose.

Saturday evening, Officers performed a warrant check at the Cenex, 120 East 16th Street. Contact was made with the suspect and a check through Dispatch showed he had an active Clay County warrant for Non Support (Contempt) with a $22,250.94 cash only bond. David O. Waters Jr., 49, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked.

Sedalia Police responded to the 1000 block of East 3rd Street for disturbance. Officers made contact with the parties, and a primary physical aggressor was not identified. One of the parties agreed to leave the residence. A 12 hour report was completed.

Sunday morning, Officers initiated a traffic stop on an SUV in the parking lot of the Taco Bell restaurant for improper registration and a defective tail light. A check through Dispatch showed the driver's license status was revoked and he had felony warrants. One of the warrants was from Pettis County on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Another was a Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Failing to Register a Motor Vehicle and Operating a Motor Vehicle Owned by Another Knowing the Owner Had Not Taken Financial Responsibility. Another was a Parole Violation warrant with no bond. Justin Tye Lindsey, 31, of Windsor, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked. A state charge of Driving While Revoked was also sent to the prosecutor.

Saturday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of East Harvey Street for a report of an assault. Contact was made with a female subject, who reported that shew as assaulted by a male suspect. The male suspect was located and arrested. Ruben G. Logan, 60, of Sedalia, was arrested for Assault in the 4th Degree and taken to the Pettis County Jail.

On the night of January 25th, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no registration plates on Thompson Boulevard near West Broadway Boulevard. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver as intoxicated. Villiam Anatoliy Izoita, 24, of Hughesville, was arrested and transported to the SPD. There, he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC was above 0.08. Izoita was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released. A request for the charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender), has been submitted to the prosecutor.

Early Sunday morning, Officers responded to the 1000 block of South Murray Avenue in reference to a physical domestic disturbance. Officers made contact with both parties. Officers determined that the female subject was the primary aggressor. Crystal D. Smith, 46, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending state charges of Assault in the 4th Degree. Smith was placed on a 24 hour hold.

Saturday morning, Officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of West 3rd Street for a report of someone not breathing. Upon arrival, it was discovered the person was deceased. No foul play is suspected.

On the afternoon of January 28th, Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1300 block of South Ohio Avenue for a harassment report. Thomas Bartlett said a suspect known to him threatened to kill him Bartlett wished to pursue charges.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Menard's store, 4400 Wisconsin Avenue on January 28th for a theft report that occurred on December 13th, 2021. Two suspects swapped barcodes on a set of more expensive breakers, and then paid for the less expensive item. They have possibly been identified.

Saturday morning, Officers stopped a vehicle in the 1600 block of South Limit Avenue after it failed to signal a turn. The driver was found to have three warrants for his arrest. James L. Neal, 34, of Sedalia, had three Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Animal At Large, Animal License, and Miscellaneous Animal Violations. Neal was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be held pending his $300 cash only bond.

Officers spoke with Kristina Moore Saturday afternoon in the 400 block of North Stewart Avenue. Moore reported a license plate stolen overnight. The license plate was entered into MULES/NCIC as stolen.

On the night of January 24th, Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Deseret Drive for a report of a suicidal individual. A witness reported that a male had cut his own throat and ran out of the residence, not dressed for the extreme cold. Officers and agents of the SPD, MSHP, SFD, and PCAD searched the area using thermal cameras, foot patrols, and vehicle patrols. The search continued for about an hour before the individual returned back home to the residence. The individual was transported to the BRHC, where he was to receive treatment and help.

Last Thursday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the PD to speak with David EK Pratt Jr., who lost his wallet in the area of 7th And Ohio. When Officers made contact with Pratt, he stated he had dropped his wallet and then left the area for about fifteen minutes. When he discovered his wallet was gone, he went back and searched the area. He even checked nearby businesses and no one brought the wallet inside. There are no suspects at this time. Pratt stated he had his credit cards and debit card deactivated. The wallet was valued at $7.00.

Friday afternoon, Officers met with the victim in the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a theft. The victim stated someone used her Apple Wallet to make several charges on her Paypal account. At the time of the report, the suspect has not been identified.

On the afternoon of January 24th, Officers met with Dorothy Robertson in the 2400 block of Acker Drive. Robertson reported her identity had been stolen. An unknown suspect had obtained her information and unsuccessfully applied to credit devices and loans.

Friday morning, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a car near West Main and North Park for no front license plate. A check through Dispatch showed one of the occupants had an active Versailles warrant with a $500 cash or surety bond. Rosie Ann Peterson, 33, of Marshall, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where she was booked.

An Officer initiated a traffic stop on a car Friday afternoon near the 1500 block of West 3rd Street because he recognized the driver as having a revoked license. A check through Dispatch showed the driver's license status was revoked. Johnathan Frederick Cota, 33, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. Cota was issued a city ticket for Driving While Suspended with a court date.

Friday afternoon, Officers spoke with Francisco Ramos Alfonso on the telephone. Alfonso, who lives in Texas, wished to report that someone in Sedalia has used his identity to purchase a car. An investigation is ongoing.

Last Thursday evening, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle after a passenger was identified and known to have an active arrest warrant. The vehicle was stopped in the area of North Grand Avenue and West Henry Street. Upon contact with the occupants, the driver and the passenger were confirmed to have active warrants and were arrested. Lachelle Rene Flores, 39, of Sedalia, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia at the time of the arrest. She also had a Pettis County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle. The driver, Julio Aleman Martinez, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested for a warrant arrest and a Failure to Appear warrant (Note: No confirmed information was found in Casenet on original charges at the time of the report). Both Flores and Martinez were transported to the Pettis County Jail.

On the morning of January 28th, an Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle near South Grand Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard for a defective brake light. A check through Dispatch showed the driver did not have a driver's license. Reina Rubio Romero, 33, of Sedalia, was arrested and taken to the Police Department. Romero was issued a city ticket for Driving Without a License.

Last Friday morning, Officers stopped a vehicle near the intersection of West 20th Street and South Missouri Avenue after observing it had no license plates. A computer check through Dispatch revealed the driver had a warrant for his arrest for Failure to Appear on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Mark Adam Hawkins, 57, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be held on a $147 cash only bond.
