This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department reports. Early Wednesday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of East Broadway and South Marvin Avenue for a license violation. The driver of the vehicle had an active Pettis County warrant for Failing to Register a Motor Vehicle and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a License. Raychel Lynn Riley, 37, of Marshall, was arrested with a bond set at $450.


Tuesday evening, Sedalia Police responded to a disturbance in the parking lot of the Police Department. While trying to determine what was going on, one of the subjects became uncooperative. The suspect refused multiple directives to get out of his car and nearly struck three Officers with his vehicle. The suspect was restrained. The subject vehicle was searched and a large quantity of THC vape cartridges, a large amount of cash, and a scale were recovered. The subject was a juvenile, who was later released to his mother. A juvenile referral for Distribution of Marijuana, Harassment in the 1st Degree, Assault in the 4th Degree, and Resisting Arrest is being forwarded to the Juvenile Office.


Tuesday morning, Sedalia Police observed a subject walking in the back parking lot of the WK Collision Center, 211 Thompson Boulevard. Officers made contact with the individual, who requested an ambulance. The suspect provided a false name. The suspect's real name was discovered and Officers learned he had a Probation Violation warrant from Johnson County on original charges of Failing to Register as a Sex Offender. While waiting on PCAD, the individual slowly lowered himself to the ground and began to shake as if he were having a seizure. The suspect was arrested, and transported to the Bothwell Regional Health Center. While at the hospital, the subject was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. The suspect was later admitted pending further testing. Johnson County was notified and the subject was released. A request for the charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance has been submitted to the prosecutor for Shaun C. Paxton, 42, of Sedalia.


Monday night, Officers conducted a vehicle check in the 2500 block of West Broadway Boulevard after observing a wanted person inside of the vehicle. Contact was made with Derrick A. Clay, 37, of Sedalia, who was arrested after his warrant for Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia was confirmed.


Sedalia Police took a theft report in the lobby of the Police Station from Jack Brown Monday night. Officers were told that between Sunday and Monday morning, a silver in color men's 26" Ultra Lite trail bike, valued at $300, was stolen from the 500 block of West Broadway.


Monday evening, Officers responded to the 1200 block of West 9th in regards to a subject check. The subject in question was having a medical issue and was becoming combative. The subject was eventually transported to the hospital by PCAD without further incident.


Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Liquor Locker, 513 West Main Street, for a report of theft Monday morning. Officers made contact with the caller, who stated that a subject came into the store that morning and attempted to steal multiple scratch off tickets from behind the counter. The caller stated that the suspect was able to steal a travel size bottle of liquor worth $0.99. The caller was also able to provide pictures of the suspect.


Monday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of East 15th Street in reference to a suicidal subject. The caller said that her husband and son were fighting over a gun. Officers took control of the situation and the suicidal subject went with PCAD to the Bothwell Regional Health Center voluntarily.


Tuesday afternoon, an Officer was dispatch to the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a theft report. Agripina Iscra said that her passport was lost and not returned to her.


Sedalia Police responded to the 200 block of Scott Joplin Court in regards to a violation of an order of protection Tuesday night. The protection order was confirmed to be valid and the suspect was arrested at the scene. Pamela M. Gullet, 36, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail whereupon she was booked to be held for 24 hours. Charges have been submitted to the Pettis County Prosecutor for Violation of A Full Order of Protection.


Tuesday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of South Vermont Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard for a vehicle with improper registration. The suspect driver was discovered to have a suspended license and was arrested. Brenden Michael Price, 22, of Sedalia, was taken to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released pending charges of Possessing Plates of Another Person.


Sedalia Police responded to the apartment buildings in the 200 block of South Quincy Avenue in regards to property damage no longer in progress. The caller, Phillip Bedell, valued the damaged property value to be $1620.00.


Tuesday afternoon, Sedalia Police took a report of a theft. On January 1st, a victim left her wallet in a vehicle of another person, in another city. The wallet and contents were never returned; this was reported to another agency. On January 4th, at an ATM in the 300 block of West Broadway in Sedalia, someone used the victim's Direct Express card and withdrew $593.00. They called the number on the back of the Direct Express card to change the PIN so they could check the balance of the account and gain access to the card. The suspect is known.


Tuesday morning, Sedalia Police performed a traffic stop on a black Ford passenger car for speeding in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Merriam Avenue. Investigation during the traffic stop revealed the driver was in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. Amanda Rachelle Mejia, 38, of Sedalia, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Dangerous Drug. Mejia was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold, with bond and court dates to be determined.


Tuesday morning, Officers performed a traffic stop in the area of East 16th and South Montgomery Avenue as Officers recognized the driver to have a warrant for her arrest. Contact was made with the driver and her information was given to Dispatch. Dispatch confirmed that she had a probation violation warrant out of Sedalia. April D. Peterson, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she had no bond.


On January 6th, Officers were made aware of an assault that occurred in the 400 block of South Ohio Avenue. The victims reported that the suspect approached their vehicle and then sprayed pepper spray inside of it. The suspect, Bobby Ross, 60, of Sedalia, was located shortly thereafter, and issued two Sedalia Municipal Summons for Assault with court date.


Monday morning, Officers responded to the Break Time store, 808 East Broadway in reference to a subject check. Break Time management advised that a male subject was seen performing a lewd act in his vehicle but left prior to Officer's arrival. Kevin S. Morrison, 49, of Sedalia, was identified and located a short time later. Morrison was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24 hour hold for Harassment.
