Early Sunday morning, Sedalia Police observed a white Dodge Charger traveling westbound on West Broadway Boulevard that was failing to maintain its lane. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle near West Broadway Boulevard and Thompson Boulevard. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Lillian Carter, 40, of Blue Springs, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. Carter provided a breath sample that showed her BAC was above 0.08. Carter was issued a UTT for Driving While Intoxicated with a court date. Carter was then fingerprinted and released to a sober driver.


 

Late last Friday night, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of South Grand Avenue for a welfare check. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that one individual had three outstanding warrants, and his girlfriend also had an outstanding warrant. Contact was made and the suspects were arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Brandon Lee Ulmer, 35, of Sedalia, was arrested on his felony Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana, and another two Failure to Appear misdemeanor warrants on original charges of Speeding and Driving While Revoked. Ulmer's bond was set at $3,254.00 cash only. Jessica S. Seeley, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested on her Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Stealing with a $2,500 cash or surety bond. Both Ulmer and Seeley were transported to the Pettis County Jail.


 

On the night of January 30th, Officers received a report of a man with a knife to his throat at the Motel 6, 3402 West Broadway Boulevard. The man was intending to kill himself. Officers with the Sedalia Police Department began looking for him and were able to make phone contact with him. Officers stayed on the line for over two hours attempting to find his location. The investigation led to broadcasting the information that was known to Cooper County and Cooper County Deputies to locate the man. The man was found at approximately 3:00 a.m. on the 31st. Officers with the SPD responded to Cooper County and transported the man willingly to the BRHC for treatment.


 

Last Saturday night, Officers initiated a traffic stop at South Grand Avenue and Magnolia Street for a stop sign violation. The driver was determined to be driving with a revoked license. Charges will be submitted to the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office.


 

Wednesday morning, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Rush Hour, 1320 South Limit Avenue, for a reported forgery. A known suspect gave the business a fake $100 bill.
