Sedalia Police Reports For February 24, 2022

Tuesday night, a truck was stopped in the area of South Kentucky Avenue and West 32nd Street. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated by drugs. Nicholas Huerta, 27, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest on a state charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs). Huerta was transported to a hospital, then to the Pettis County Jail, to be released to a sober driver.

Sedalia Police took a report of a lost wallet from Timothy Gilio Wednesday evening. After speaking with Gilio, he stated that his debit card was used online. A report was complete. The suspect is unknown at the time of the report.

Officers conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of West 6th Street and South Quincy Avenue Wednesday night. The driver had two warrants out of Pettis County. Morgan T. Foote, 23 of Sedalia, was arrested on her two Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Expired Plates and Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway While Suspended. Total bond on the warrants was set at $149 cash only. Foote was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Wednesday afternoon, Officers were sent to the Motel 6, 3402 West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a disturbance. Officers arrived and found the suspect in the strip mall located in the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard. Officers ran the male's information through Dispatch, and he had two warrants out of Benton County. The warrants were confirmed by hard copy a short time later. Matthew L. Whitworth, 40, of Cole Camp, was arrested for one Probation Violation on original charges of felony Burglary in the 2nd Degree and Theft (Over $500 in Value), and a Failure to Appear warrant on felony Theft of Credit Card. Whitworth was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was held with no bond.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the area of West Main Street and Industrial Road Wednesday for a report of a weapon in the roadway. Officers arrived and located a knife with a homemade duct taped handle lying in the roadway. The owner is unknown. The knife was collected and placed into evidence as found property.

On the morning of February 23rd, Officers spoke to an unnamed complainant in reference to her juvenile son running away from the house earlier that morning. She was attempting to have school staff take him to school. The juvenile returned to the house about an hour later, before he was entered as missing. The complainant attempted to take the juvenile to school after locating the juvenile. The juvenile once again ran away from the complainant as she attempted to take him to the Smith Cotton Junior High. The juvenile was located walking by a family member. The juvenile was transported to the Pettis County Juvenile Office. He remained there with staff. A referral will be sent to the Pettis County Juvenile Office.
