Wednesday night, Officers performed a traffic stop on a white Jeep SUV, as the plates on the vehicle were expired in May of 2020.  Officers also recognized the driver to have a suspended license. The traffic stop took place in the area of South State Fair Boulevard and West 5th Street. Officers spoke to the driver and a single occupant, and then performed a computer check through Dispatch, confirming the drivers suspended status. Escobar Cruz, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended and transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he was processed and released pending a court date.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the Holiday Inn, 4001 West Broadway Boulevard, for a report of domestic assault Wednesday night. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the victim. The victim stated that the suspect had assaulted her and then left the hotel. The suspect could not be located. Charges are being requested through the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office.


 

Officers met with Jason L. Vansel in the lobby of the Sedalia Police Department in reference to a child abuse incident Wednesday night. Vansel advised that their child had been physically assaulted by a step parent.


 

Tuesday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of South Grand Avenue and West 15th Street. The driver did not have a driver's license and could not be properly identified. Maria Del Carmen Reyes-Romero, 19, of Sedalia, was arrested and booked at the Police Department for No License Plates and Driving Without a License.


 

Wednesday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of West 7th Street in reference to a disturbance. A computer check of one of the parties involved showed that they had an active warrant from Pettis County for Non Payment of Child Support. When the warrant was confirmed active, Bobby Don Johnson, 41, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Johnson was given a bond of $1500 cash only.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of West 9th Street in reference to a disturbance Wednesday morning. The parties got into an argument that became physical. The incident was documented in a 12 hour log.
