Sedalia Police Reports for August 2, 2024

Thursday night, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of North Quincy Avenue in regards to a domestic disturbance. The suspect fled the scene. About an hour later, Officers were dispatched to Braden Signs, 1102 West Main Street, in reference to a burglary. The intoxicated suspect was located hiding behind the business. The suspect was arrested and while waiting for treatment at the Bothwell Regional Health Center, he assaulted an Officer. Mitchel William Duncan, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of felony Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree*, Property Damage in the 1st Degree, and Burglary in the 2nd Degree.
Early Friday morning, Officers responded to the area of East 24th Street and South Ingram Avenue in response to a disturbance. Upon arrival, it was determined one suspect had threatened another and had tried running their vehicle off the road. Noldgi Hansh Brioche, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of Careless Driving and Harassment to Frighten or Disturb Another Person. Brioche was taken to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.
Sedalia Police responded to the 300 block of West 7th Street in response to a possible case of child abuse. An intoxicated suspect was identified on scene and arrested. Ira Hawkins, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of Abuse or Neglect of a Child, and Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree. Hawkins was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.
On the night of July 28th, Officers made a traffic stop on a vehicle near the area of West 16th Street and South Barrett Avenue. The Officers had observed the vehicle speeding. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Kynndrick P. Brooks, 18, of Milo Missouri, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated. Brooks was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC to be above 0.08. Brooks was transported to the Pettis County Jail.
Officers were dispatched to the Probation and Parole Office, 205 Thompson Road, for a report of a wanted individual present. Officers identified the subject and placed her under arrest. Nichole Chere Paxton, 39, of Sedalia, was arrested for her two Probation Violation warrants on original charges of felony Stealing ($750 or More), and felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Each warrant carried a bond of $25,000 cash or surety.
Early Friday morning, Officers spoke to a complainant in reference to a missing person. The complainant reported his wife had left the residence in the 1400 block of South Beacon Avenue, and had not returned after several hours. The complainant voiced concerns due to mental health related issues. The subject was entered into MULES as a missing person. She was later located safely and removed.
Thursday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of East 10th Street in reference to an animal running at large. A dog got loose and killed a neighbor’s cat. Staci J. Simmer, 32, of Sedalia, was issued a citation for Animal At Large.
*In this context, “Aggravated” means made more serious by attendant circumstances. Some common forms of aggravation include the following: the use of a weapon in the commission of a crime, the age of the victim, a prior violation for the same offense, the location of the offense, and the employment status of a victim, among many others.
