In the early morning hours of August 7th, Officers observed a vehicle with expired registration that was failing to maintain its lane. Officers conducted a traffic stop on it at East Broadway Boulevard and South Marvin Avenue. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Kelsey E. Van Vickle, 24, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. There, Van Vickle provided a breath sample that showed her BAC to be above 0.08. Van Vickle was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and placed on a 24 hour hold for charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender).


 

Tuesday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of South Kentucky Avenue and West 3rd Street for a vehicle with a broken tail light. An occupant of the vehicle was found to have a Failure to Appear warrant out of Pettis County on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Nykolas Lee Allen, 20, of Sedalia, was arrested on the warrant and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked on the warrant pending a $147.00 cash only bond.


 

Tuesday night, Officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of South Massachusetts Avenue for a medical call. Upon arrival, Officers located one deceased female inside the residence. There was no further information in the report.


 

Sedalia Police received a report of a missing person Monday night from Roy Crocker. Information was gathered, and a report has been completed.


 

Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of South Moniteau Avenue Monday afternoon in reference to a drug activity call. Officers entered the caller's home with the caller, in order to retrieve personal belongings. Inside the residence, Officers located several illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia items. The items were seized for destruction. While on the scene, an Ex-Parte was served to the caller's husband, who gathered clothing and left the property.

Monday night, Officers assisted a traffic stop at West Cooper and South Osage Avenue on a vehicle that had been stopped for running a stop sign. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Kimberly L. Chavez, 35, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where she provided a breath sample. Chavez was issued a UTT for Driving While Intoxicated, and released to a sober driver.


 

Tuesday night, Officers were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department, 300 West 3rd Street, for a report of found property. Someone reported finding a lost cell phone in Sedalia.


 

Officers responded to Burger King, 1101 South Limit Avenue, in reference to a hit-and-run accident Tuesday afternoon. Upon arrival, Officers met with Janice Jones. Jones stated she was involved in a collision on the roadway with a semi truck. The semi truck had left northbound on Limit Avenue. At the time of the report, the truck has not been identified.


 

Tuesday morning, Officers were dispatched the 200 block of Thompson Road to the Probation and Parole Office for a report of a subject that had a warrant for their arrest. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the suspect, and ran his information through Dispatch. It was confirmed the subject had two felony Probation Violation warrants an original charges of two counts of felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree. Avery N. Williamson, 31, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail.


 

Tuesday afternoon, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the area of West 7th Street and South Osage Avenue for a report of a lewd act. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with a suspect who was in the process of performing a sexual act on himself. James McMillin, 39, Homeless, was placed under arrest for Sexual Misconduct in the 1st Degree and Harassment With the Intent to Frighten or Disturb Another Person. McMillin was placed on a 24 hour hold.


 

Officers were dispatched to Heck Avenue and South Limit Avenue Tuesday morning in reference to a found bicycle. There was a black and blue Hyper Shocker 20 laying down in the middle of Heck Avenue near Driftwood. The bicycle was collected and transported to the Sedalia Police Department for safekeeping.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department Monday afternoon for a report of burglary. Calvin Collins said in the early morning hours of August 4th, someone broke into his residence in the 1200 block of East 14th Street. Collins said the suspects stole a Playstation 4 and two controllers.


 

Tuesday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of South Kentucky Avenue in reference to a disturbance. When Officers arrived on scene, the suspect left out the back door of the residence. Another Officer made contact a block away. The victim stated during a verbal argument, the suspect hit her in the face with an open hand. Melvin E. Osburn, 24, Homeless, was arrested for Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be place on a 24 hour hold.
