Sunday evening, Officers responded to the 700 block of East 15th Street for a report of a road rage incident. The incident occurred near the area of East 3rd Street and South Montgomery Avenue. A general information report was prepared to document the incident, but no charges are being pursued.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the Sedalia Parks and Recreation, 1500 West 3rd Street Sunday night for a report of theft from a vehicle. Nicholas D. Bowers reported his unlocked car had been gone through while he was playing baseball.


 

Early Monday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of West 16th Street and South Ohio Avenue for an equipment violation. The driver was found to have a suspended driver's license. Charges are being requested through the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office.


 

On the morning of April 2nd, Officers took a damaged property report from Ashlyn R. Moeckli in the 1100 block of South Barrett Avenue. Moeckli reported her car's door was kicked in by a known subject after dropping a shared friend of theirs off at her residence. A property damage report was taken and the investigation is ongoing at this time.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 600 block of South Moniteau Avenue Sunday afternoon for a report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed that an argument had occurred, and there had been some sort of assault, but Police were unable to determine a primary physical aggressor. The report was completed to log these events.


 

Early Monday morning, Officers responded to the 1600 block of East 6th Street for a report of a suspicious person near the property. Jordan T. Watt reported a male walking around their property with an axe. The subject was gone on Officer's arrival, and a general information report was taken. No charges are being requested at this time.


 

Sunday afternoon, Officers stopped a car in front of the Pettis County Sheriff's Office on South Lamine Avenue. The stop was originally to check if the registered owner, whose driving privileges had been revoked, was driving. However, during the course of the stop, the driver committed a moving violation. A probable cause search of the car yielded a gun, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. The owner of the car, who was the passenger and is a convicted felon, claimed ownership of the items. John David Jones, 61, of Sedalia, was put on a 24 hour hold pending the filing of formal charges of Unlawful Possession of a Concealable Weapon, Possession of a Dangerous Drug, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Hancock Avenue Sunday afternoon in reference to a hit and run accident. Investigation revealed a southbound Audi failed to yield and collided with an eastbound Jeep. Several occupants of the Audi immediately fled the area, but some slowly trickled back during the course of the investigation. They all, including the driver of the Jeep, sustained minor injury in the crash. The driver of the Audi never returned, but there was a clear video from a nearby residence that captured the incident, including the driver. The case remains under investigation.


 

Saturday evening, Officers responded to the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Garfield Avenue in reference to a vehicle crash. Upon arrival, Officers discovered that the driver and occupant of the at fault vehicle had fled the scene on foot. The other driver did not report any injury. The driver that fled has been identified, and the case remains under investigation.


 

Sedalia Police met with Jose Quetzecua Sunday morning in the 1000 block of East 9th Street. Quetzecua had discovered a vehicle parked in front of their home had been damaged. Officers spoke to the victim, who was out of state. There are no suspects at this time.


 

Officers responded to a trespassing report Saturday night at the Dollar General, 619 North Ohio Avenue. The suspect was gone upon Officer's arrival. A report was completed documenting the incident.


 

Saturday afternoon, Officers made contact with a subject who reported a shoplifting incident in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard on April 4th. A male subject was reported to have entered the business and stole items from inside.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department Saturday morning in reference to a found property report. Jacob Butterfield found a key on the sidewalk near the intersection of West 4th Street and South Moniteau Avenue. The key was placed into evidence for safekeeping.


 

Officers met with Juan Frausto in the 1400 block of East 4th Street Saturday morning regarding a burglary. The week before, someone had forcefully entered the residence there and stole a bag of door knobs. There are no suspects at this time.


 

Friday morning, Officers responded to the 400 block of East 17th Street for a report of theft. Contact was made with Mary A. Harvey, who reported that her credit cards were stolen from her vehicle in the overnight hours. One of the cards was later used to purchase some items at a local store.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 400 block of North Stewart Avenue Friday morning in reference to a found property report. Mark McNeal reported finding a partially disassembled bike in the alley way. The bike was taken to the Police Department, where it was entered into evidence for safekeeping.


 

Friday morning, Officers spoke with Elmer Winfrey over the phone. Winfrey wished to report that he had lost his wallet at the Breaktime store, 318 West Broadway Boulevard, the night before. At the time of the report, it is still missing. No foul play is suspected.


 

On the evening of April 7th, Officers conducted a subject check in the parking lot of the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard. The subject had five active felony warrants from two counties and he was arrested. George Albert Wohlgemuth, 52, Homeless, was arrested for his warrants for Failure to Appear on original charges of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, felony Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Wohlgemuth also had Probation Violation warrants for felony Driving While Revoked, and two counts of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Wohlgemuth was held with no bond.
