One of the big stories today is how many saw a meteor streaking through the Missouri sky last night.

The headlines say it all. "Massive Meteor Lights Up St. Louis Sky" says KSHB. "Meteor Trails Across Night Sky" says the Kansas City Star. "Fireball Spotted Over Missouri" shouted the American Meteor Society. Do you think that last one was a little over the top, especially since it was from the American Meteor Society?

It might be over the top, although the American Meteor Society says a fireball is a meteor that is brighter than Venus, so I suspect they weren't trying to be sensational, they were trying to be accurate.

One other agency captured video the fireball in the sky, and that would be the Sedalia Police Department. One of their officers driving down Limit captured the meteor on the cruiser's dash cam and the agency shared it on Facebook for all to see. You can watch the video for yourself on the Sedalia Police Department's Facebook page here. If that isn't worthy of 30 second on "Live PD Presents: PD Cam" I don't know what is.
