Sedalia Man Arrested After Electric Shopping Carts Reported Stolen

Sedalia Police were dispatched to Walmart on May 16 after a complaint that two electric mobility shopping carts had been taken from the building and were being driven from the property.

According to Sedalia Police, the shopping carts were later located in a parking area in the 3400 block of West Broadway and were both returned to the store. Police obtained surveillance video and later arrested one suspect in the case who was located during an unrelated disturbance call.

19-year-old William Tyler Cain of Sedalia was taken to the Pettis County Jail. Cain was placed on a 24-hour hold. Officers are seeking charges of felony stealing. Police say a second suspect remains at large.
