Scotty McCreery has been booked to perform the National Anthem at an upcoming NFL playoff game.

McCreery will be singing "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the AFC Divisional Playoff game that is scheduled for Saturday (Jan. 16) between the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs. The former American Idol winner is a Pats fan; in 2015, he performed at their Welcome to Arizona Party before the team won the Super Bowl.

"My dad, who was raised in New England, instilled a love of the New England Patriots in me from birth,” McCreery says in a press release. “I was at the Super Bowl last year when they won -- maybe that makes me their good luck charm. I cannot wait to sing in Gillette Stadium and then cheer the Patriots on to another victory!"

The Patriots vs. Chiefs game is scheduled to begin at 4:35PM ET. It will air live on CBS.

While not cheering on the Patriots, McCreery is getting ready to release his biography, Go Big or Go Home: The Journey Toward the Dream, which will hit bookstore shelves on May 3. More information about McCreery's upcoming schedule can be found on his website.
