Sam Hunt warmed things up over the Memorial Day weekend with a concert at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where he debuted a brand new song, "Nothing Lasts Forever."

“We've never played it live before so I thought why not try it up here,” Hunt told the crowd at the Firestone Legends Day concert on Saturday (May 27), a day shy of the 102nd Indianapolis 500. The country singer promises a studio version of "Nothing Lasts Forever" will follow soon.

The impromptu song debut was welcomed by Hunt’s fans, especially those who still can’t get enough of his current single "Downtown’s Dead," which has become his highest-ever radio single chart debut.

The performance in Indianapolis was also a warmup for Hunt's upcoming spot on Luke Bryan’s What Makes You Country Tour – XL Stadium Sized, kicking off May 31 at Rogers Centre in Toronto. From there, Hunt and his musical band of brothers will make stops in New York City, Cincinnati, Tampa, Pittsburgh, Boston, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Denver, St. Louis, Chicago, Vancouver and Detroit.

Hunt was also recently announced as a performer at the 2018 CMT Music Awards, which will air live from Nashville on June 6. On June 10, he'll headline the 2018 Taste of Country Music Festival on Hunter Mountain in New York.
