Some of the things going on this summer at the Missouri State Fair are beginning to be fleshed out. Including events at State Fair Arena. The return of the Homegrown Singer Contest on the Bud Stage and more.

First let's look at the Free Entertainment available. The opening day parade will happen Thursday night August 12 at 6:00 PM CDT and of course Bartholomule will be out strolling the grounds of his favorite state fair daily.

Then there's the free shows and things to do for the duration of the fair. This includes the Kids Zone, right next to the Kdis Stage. Animal trainer Carolyn Rice and her Puppies of Penzance act. A step back in time to experience entertainment the way it was done in the days of the old time "medicine shows" with Professor Farquar and Polecat Annie. There will be shows daily on the Bud Stage at 2:00PM, 6:00PM and 9:00PM CDT however no specific performers have been added yet. The Homegrown Singer Contest will be taking place on the Bud Stage at 4:00PM August 12-15 and then August 19-21. The final Homegrown Singer performances will be held August 22 at 2:00PM CDT. State Fair Arena will host the MRCA Show-Me State Rodeo Thursday August 12, Friday August 13 and Saturday August 14 at 7:00PM CDT. Tickets are $8.00 for adults, $5.00 for kids ages six to twelve and kids five and under sitting on a parent's lap are free.

The Missouri State Fair Cross Series will hold their championship round at State Fair Arena on Sunday August 15 at 7:00PM CDT. The Flat Tract TT is scheduled for 7:00PM CDT on Monday August 16.Tickets for either event are $7.00. Kids five and under sitting on a parent's lap are free.

Bull riding takes over the arena on Friday August 20 and Saturday August 21 at 8:00PM CDT. Tickets are $12.00 for adults, $6.00 for kids six to twelve and children five and under sitting on a parent's lap are free.

Finally the last event at State Fair Arena is the demolition derby scheduled for 2:00PM on Sunday August 22. The only grandstand event announced so far is the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League scheduled for Monday Night August 16 at 6:00PM CDT. Tickets are $25 for adults, $12.00 for kids six through twelve, and children five and under sitting on a parent's lap are free. There have been no grandstand concerts announced for the 2021 fair yet.
