Pettis County Adopts State COVID-19 Health Order

Pettis County Health Center let the County Public Health Order regarding the coronavirus lapse and adopted the State Public Health Order extended by Governor Mike Parson. This according to a release from the Pettis County Health Center.

According to the release this relaxes some of the rules and restrictions put in place to stop the spread of COVID-19 in Pettis County. Some of the changes include:

• Restaurants only need to create a six foot buffer around tables, there is no set occupancy limit, although the six foot public distancing caps occupancy of most restaurants at around 50%.
• Events such as sports, weddings, funerals, church services and other gatherings may take place, as long as six feet social distancing is observed between household groups.
• Other situations that may bring individuals in close contact with each other still require enhanced protective measures which include wearing of masks.

The Pettis County Health Center says, "The goal of the administrator of the Pettis County Health Center and the Board of Trustees has always been to maintain the balance between protecting the health of the community while allowing businesses to operate within the parameters of State Public Health orders. "

Pettis County Health Center says social distancing, wearing of masks and staying home when you're sick, good hand washing and sanitizing practices and protecting those most susceptible to COVID-19 in our communities are the best ways to prevent spread of the disease.

As of Monday afternoon June 1, there have been 79 cases of COVID-19 in Pettis County and ten are still active.
