One Killed, Three Others Injured in Lafayette County Accident
Three people were injured and one man was killed in a Lafayette County accident around 10 p.m. on July 11.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the driver of a 1997 Saturn, 58-year-old David Gamel of Corder, was pronounced dead following a collision on MO-20 at MO-23, when a 2012 Nissan reportedly failed to yield to the Saturn while making a left turn.
The driver of the Nissan, 19-year-old Donna Sparks of Blackburn, was transported by Life Flight to Centertpoint Medical Center for the treatment of serious injuries. Two passengers in the Nissan, 22-year-old Caleb Mace and 13-year-old Zavien Dierenfeldt, suffered moderate injuries and were taken by EMS for treatment.
The Nissan sustained extensive damage in the accident, while the Saturn was totaled.
