If you've got a little time to spare and want to give back to your community, how does helping out at Old Drum and Friends Animal Shelter in Warrensburg sound?

While the animal shelter is searching for a permanent person to help out as a part time employee, they still need to keep the shelter clean and the animals healthy and happy. This is where you come in.

The shelter needs people to help out with the following:

  • Dog walking at 8:00AM and 5:00PM CDT.
  • Several dogs need baths.
  • The cat adoption building cages need to be hand cleaned.
  • Laundry and household like chores.

There's something special about volunteering with a shelter or an animal rescue group. There's a special feeling that you'll feel when you give back to your community. When you help the cats, dogs and other animals up for adoption at Old Drum and Friends Animal Shelter. Who knows you may fall in love with one of the animals and have new furry family member.

Volunteering is also a great opportunity to support the shelter if you can't donate cash, or you're not in a position to rescue a dog or cat yourself.

Volunteers are required to wear a mask inside the shelter and will be required to have their temperature taken before getting into their volunteer work. People considering volunteering who feel ill or are sick are asked to stay home. While the shelter wishes they could accept volunteers of all ages, safety and liability concerns require that volunteers be 18 years old or older.  You can learn more about volunteer opportunities on the Old Drum and Friends Facebook page here.
