New Elm Branch Bridge Now Open
On Thursday, Aug. 22 at 11 a.m., the Pettis County Commission and representatives from OWN Engineering and Cale Seymour Construction conducted the final inspection for Bridge No. 294001 on Elm Branch Road, near Farrington Park Lake in Windsor.
After the inspection of the bridge was complete, it was determined the project was substantially finalized and the road was ordered to be opened to traffic effective immediately.
"Since I took office back in 2013, we’ve completed an average of two bridges a year,” said Western Commissioner Jim Marcum. “With every bridge we build, our County just keeps on growing. Watching Pettis County flourish over the last 12 years is something I’m mighty proud of. Making sure folks have safe roads to travel on has always been my priority."
No local dollars were used on the $309,178 project, as it was financed entirely through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. Additionally, the county will secure over $247,342 in soft match credits to use in future projects. “We continue to make our great County better, one bridge at a time,” Presiding Commissioner Bill Taylor added.
Eastern Commissioner Israel Baeza concluded by saying “This bridge is a prime example of our dedication to ensuring that every corner of our county is accessible and well-maintained. We believe that such investments are crucial in fostering growth, improving safety, and enhancing the quality of life for all residents, no matter where they live.”
