MO Ag Photo Contest in Final Week
If you're like most families growing up in rural Missouri, you've had a camera in hand taking pictures of the Show-Me State beauty. For the amateur photographer this is a chance to have those photographs shown at the Missouri State Fair.
Amateur photographers across the state are reminded that the Missouri Department of Agriculture's 2021 Focus on Missouri Agriculture Photo Contest ends on Friday, June 11.
This opportunity is for photographers to submit their best images of life on the farm in the contest to help tell the story of Missouri agriculture. Pretty much any farm-related image can submitted-from a breathtaking farm landscape to an aerial shot of harvest or a farm tractor that has been in the family for years.
The statewide Focus on Missouri Agriculture contest is open to Missouri’s amateur photographers of all ages. There are five categories and each participant may enter up to three photographs in each one. The photo contest categories are:
- Beauty of the Farm
- Faces of the Farm
- The Farmer’s Life and Pride of the Farm
- Children's Barnyard
- A special category for budding photographers ages 12 and under, is back again this year.
All entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 11. They will be judged on visual impact, creativity, memorable content and image quality. To submit photos, amateur photographers can visit Agriculture.Mo.Gov/focus to complete the online form.
Contest winners will be announced in July. Photos submitted to the contest will be placed on the Department’s Flicker Screen. The winning photos will be on display in the Agriculture Building at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia August 12-22.
