I don't pay attention to the opinion of one person who happens to be writing an article. However, I pay big attention when millions of readers of a national website vote for their favorite something. That's exactly what happened to a Missouri theme park which was just voted the best in all of America by the readers of USA Today.
This is one of the most prestigious honors you can get from a national audience. Voting has been going on for weeks by the readers of USA Today. According to them, the absolute best theme park in America is...(*drum roll*)...
The park made the big announcement on their Facebook page.
Why does Silver Dollar City rule the theme park world?
Here are the exact words of USA Today:
Silver Dollar City, with its 1880s mining town theme, attracts some two million visitors annually with its combination of entertainment, festivals, 100 resident craftsmen and more than 40 rides and attractions. The park is also home to Time Traveler, the world's fastest, steepest and tallest spinning coaster.
My family made many trips to Silver Dollar City when I was a kid. I fondly remember the terrifying rides on Fire in the Hole and the awesome log flume ride and train. I love Six Flags, too, but it's hard to match the atmosphere of the Branson area and Ozarks in Silver Dollar City.
