The first weekend of the Missouri State Fair is here to celebrate Then & Wow!  Today is Pepsi Day, where you can get $1 off adult admission and $5 off carnival ride wristband, which you’ll need a specially marked Diet Pepsi can to get the discount.

One of the biggest pushes of the Missouri State Fair in recent years has been to highlight science and technology and this year you can go to the Show-Me Tent between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to check out all the Agriculture-Science-Technology events.

The State Fair Arena will continue to have their MRCA Rodeo, but tonight will be special with it being the Finals, so come see the best of the best put on a rodeo show for you.  Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for kids ages 6 to 12, those under 5 are free.

The Bud Tent will have a new act with Jason Cassidy playing at 2 and 6 p.m. The Missouri State Fair Idol will have qualifying at 4 p.m. and the Nace Brothers continue to play at night at 9 p.m.

There is other free entertainment planned and each day of the Fair check out the Sea Lion Splash just west of the Agriculture Building with shows at Noon, 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Plus be sure to go through the different buildings, and pay attention for the sound of roosters at 2 p.m. as the Rooster Crowing Contest happens at the Poultry Building.

The Pepsi Grandstand will have the best of both worlds, with country and rock together on the stage, Montgomery Gentry and 38 Special will play at 7:30 p.m.
