KMOV in St. Louis was the first media outlet I saw that shared this sweet story, but it's also been shared by Good Morning America among others. It's the challenge that John Ivanowski of Kirkwood, Missouri faced. He learned that his kidney donation request had finally been met. What he didn't know is that the donor was his own daughter Delayne.

Delayne Ivanowski shared the moment she revealed to her dad that she was the donor on TikTok right after he woke up from surgery.

The backstory of why John didn't want Delayne to be his donor is touching. He lost his son to cancer 16 years ago and was terrified that something would happen to Delayne. The report says that she spent 9 months secretly going through the approval process before the surgery was successfully done.

The report goes on to say that the entire community of Kirkwood and those that follow Delayne on social media are rallying to raise funds to help the family pay for both surgeries.
