Luke Bryan Invites First Responders to Hurricane Harvey Benefit Concert
Luke Bryan will be performing in Houston on Sept. 22, and he's inviting first responders to join him. According to a press release, Bryan is "coordinating with the Houston-area authorities to make tickets available" to those first responders. Proceeds from the concert, which will be held at Cynthia Woods Pavilion, will be donated to the Houston Community Fund.
On Tuesday night (Sept. 12), Bryan participated in the Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Relief telethon, answering phone calls as part of a celebrity phone bank. Dozens of country stars appeared at the benefit, from Faith Hill to Trace Adkins. The night closed with with an all-star ensemble -- George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen -- performing "If It Wasn't for Texas" and "I Believe."
The country community has been active in their support of Hurricane Harvey relief efforts: Chris Young and Granger Smith have been deeply involved in fundraising, Lambert brought her animal rescue charity to help, and Dustin Lynch performed a benefit concert in Dallas.
