La Monte Man Killed In ATV Rollover

A La Monte man was killed in an ATV accident that occurred Sunday night in Pettis County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

76-year-old Carl W. Arnett, Jr., was pronounced deceased at 7:55 a.m. Monday morning by Pettis County Coroner Robert “Skip” Smith.

According to a report, Arnett was driving an Arctic Cat 400 4x4 ATV sometime Sunday evening when he apparently overturned on a private road while negotiating a slight curve, and the ATV came to rest on top of the driver.

The accident occurred at 13278 US Highway 50, southwest of La Monte.

The body was taken to Rea Funeral Chapel in Sedalia.
