Knob Noster Under Boil Advisory
UPDATE: The boil advisory was lifted around 11:30 Saturday morning, according to Knob Noster Utility Clerk Trisha Wilcox.
UPDATE: Water service in Knob Noster has been restored as of 3:51 p.m. Thursday. However, the City is still under a boil advisory until further notice, according to Utility Clerk Trisha Wilcox. She thanked residents for their patience and cooperation as Knob Noster's Public Works Department worked to restore service.
The City of Knob Noster is under a boil advisory due to a water main break on the southwest side of town, according to Trisha Wilcox, Utility Clerk for Knob Noster.
Residents living on the southwest side will be without water while the rest of the town will have low pressure, Wilcox noted, due to a water main break on South State Street directly north of the school’s bus barn and east of the high school football field.
Both of the City's water tanks are nearly empty as a result.
The boil order will last a minimum of two days, she said.
Mutual aid partners have been contacted regarding the potential need for fire suppression assistance if needed.
Drinking water is being distributed until 3 p.m. today by Johnson County EMA, along with instructions regarding boil advisory practices.
And due to the significant loss of water supply within the City of Knob Noster, Johnson County EMA will have a point of dispensing for canned drinking water at Knob Noster City Hall, 201 N. State Street.
Residents are encouraged to practice water conservation
