Kendal Brown, Ten Other Sedalians Arrested

Kendal Brown, 27, who escaped law enforcement on April 19 at Super 7 Motel and has been on the run ever since, was located and arrested Sunday evening around 9 p.m. in the 600 block of West Fourth.

According to a press release from the Pettis County Sheriffs Office, Pettis County deputies, with the assistance of Sedalia Police, Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force, Brown was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Brown was wanted on four active warrants totaling $135,000. Additional charges are being sought by the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office.

And on Monday around 2 a.m., acting on information obtained during the Brown arrest, ten other Sedalians were also arrested:

Carla R. Meck, 38 (felony driving while revoked or suspended, hindering prosecution)

Patricia K. Ryan, 23 (possession of imitation controlled substance, hindering prosecution, drug paraphernalia)

Travis D. Martin, 29 (hindering prosecution)

Tyler N. Rusk, 26 (resisting arrest, possession with intent to deliver, endangering the welfare of a child)

Danielle D. Ketcher, 25 (possession of a controlled substance, Saline County warrant - $10,000 cash)

Chantel R. Newman, 25 (possession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child)

Korey R. Isenburg, 30 (possession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child)

Ciera C. Pierce, 28 (Pettis County, Municipal and Adair County warrants, possession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child)

Jacob J. Copeland, 21 (Pettis County warrant - $100,000)

Nicholas A. Shipley, 34 (possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, endangering the welfare of a child)

All were transported to the Pettis County Jail.

According to the sheriff's office, a search warrant was served at 2 a.m. Monday, May 6 at the Tyler Rusk residence in the 1600 block of West 9th in Sedalia. The search revealed methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Also located were three additional subjects who had active warrants for their arrest. Two minor children were also located in the home.

During the investigation, Tyler Rusk fled the area on foot. However, deputies, acting upon information  received during the investigation, were able to locate Rusk at a residence on Swope Road, north of Sedalia, later in the day. He was taken into custody as well.

All arrests were made possible by the assistance of the public, and the cooperation between the Pettis County Sheriff's Office, the Sedalia Police Department, the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office, it was noted.

Brown escaped authorities on April 19 when deputies knocked on the door at Super 7 Motel, 5650 S. Limit, after receiving an anonymous tip.

According to the sheriff's report, Brown kicked out a window and ran out the back, while Christopher "Scotty" Lipper remained in the motel room and consented to a search, which yielded two firearms, drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. Lipper was arrested for hindering prosecution, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of unlawful possession of firearms and possession of a controlled substance.

Brown remained at large for two weeks and two days before being captured early Sunday morning in Sedalia.
