Patrick Mahomes scrambled for a pair of first downs, including one on fourth down, before connecting with Mecole Hardman on a 3-yard pass for a 25-22 victory in overtime Sunday night, making the Kansas City Chiefs back-to back Super Bowl Champions after defeating the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

The KC Chiefs are the first repeat Super Bowl champions since the New England Patriots in 2003 and 2004, and their third championship in four appearances at the Super Bowl in the past five years.

Mahomes, 28, earned his second straight Super Bowl ring and his third overall. He is the sixth quarterback to win three Super Bowls and the second youngest, and his three Super Bowl championships puts Mahomes behind Tom Brady, Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw for the most championships by a starting quarterback in NFL history.

The Chiefs now hold the lead in Super Bowl titles among the four teams in the AFC West.

Winning Super Bowl 58, reportedly the longest Super Bowl in history, was not a walk in the park by any means, however. In fact, it was a struggle.

Mahomes, named the Super Bowl MVP, was suffering from a 10-point deficit, when he warmed up in the fourth quarter, when he drove the Chiefs for a field goal, to tie it at 16, with 5:46 left, then drove for another field goal that sent the game into overtime.

Mahomes finished with 333 yards passing and two touchdowns. (Coincidentally, the address of Allegiant Stadium is 3333 Al Davis Way). Mahones eventually found Hardman wide-open in the end zone, securing the win for Kansas City. That was Hardman's first and only catch in the game.

“Just know that the Kansas City Chiefs are never underdogs,” Mahomes said when interviewed after the 'big game.' "Just know that.”

This makes Head Coach Andy Reid's third Super Bowl win and he is now tied for third place among coaches winning the most Super Bowls.

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker's field goal tied the game, playing a major role in the Chief's win. Butker’s 57-yard field goal is the longest in Super Bowl history

In other Super Bowl Superstar news, Taylor Swift flew halfway around the world to see her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and his team play the San Francisco 49ers Sunday night in person.

Swift completed her trip from the Tokyo Dome to Allegiant Stadium for the game, walking through security along with Blake Lively, Ice Spice and her mother, Andrea Swift.

She later was spotted chatting with Kelce's brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in one of the private boxes that reportedly cost more than $1 million each. Singer Lana Del Rey joined the suite just in time to catch Usher's halftime show, which featured no less than a half dozen special guests, including Alicia Keys, Lil Jon, H.E.R., Ludacris, Jermaine Dupri and Will.I.Am. There were plenty of back-up dancers, feathers, acrobats, and to top it all off, a real-life marching band.

Usher, 45, clad in all-white, finished his set by going shirtless after demonstrating his rollerblade skills.

Swift, who has been dating Kelce since the first few weeks of the NFL season, flew on a private plane across nine time zones and the international date line from the last of four shows at the Tokyo Dome in Japan to arrive about two hours before kickoff.

The time change allowed Swift to land in Los Angeles and make the final plane trip to Las Vegas's Harry Reid Airport, located just east of the stadium.

Other celebrity sightings at Super Bowl 58 included Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Paul Rudd, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, J, Paul McCartney, Jimmy Kimmel and Carrot Top.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson posted a photo of him meeting country music star Reba McEntire, who sang the National Anthem at Super Bowl 58.

Post Malone sang 'America the Beautiful' prior to the start of Sunday's big game.
