With a trip to the Super Bowl on the line, the Kansas City Chiefs got some good news.  Their All-Pro safety returned to practice.  That would be the Honey Badger Tyrann Mathieu.

The star safety was seen at practice on Thursday and is still working his was through the NFL's concussion protocol.  As we all know, the Chiefs will try and get revenge on the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.  Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase lit up the Chiefs secondary the last time they faced one another.  It would be nice to get the team back to full strength and Mathieu was the only player not at practice yesterday.  If he can get through a full practice, with no adverse affect from the concussion, he could be good to go.

The Chiefs will also be hoping to get cornerback Rashod Fenton back for the championship as well. Having a packed defensive back room will be crucial to taking down the Bengals high powered weapons. The Bengals feature four great receiving options including Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd and C.J. Uzomah.

This is a match-up that could also hinge on defensive pressure.  The Bengals offensive line gave up 9 sacks against the Titans last week.  So if Chris Jones and the Chiefs defense can get some pressure on Burrow, and our secondary can get back to full strength, I like our chances.  Patrick Mahomes and that offense will have plenty of chances to put points on the board.  I think it will be another track meet, but I got the Chiefs in a close one, and another trip to the Super Bowl.  Go Chiefs!
