A Stover woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Thursday morning in Pettis County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2011 Peterbilt tractor-trailer, driven by 37-year-old Kelly L. Peaster of Cole Camp, was on Route V, east of Moriarty Road (between Route U and Westermier Road) around 10:30 a.m., when the driver crossed the center line and was traveling east in the westbound lane.

A westbound 2006 Chevy HHR, driven by 55-year-old Autumn Gilpin of Stover, attempted to swerve to avoid being struck, but was hit by the Peterbilt nearly head-on.

Both vehicles traveled off the north side of the roadway and struck a fence.
