Sedalia Firefighters responded to 2605 Southwest Boulevard around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday and extinguished a fire that began in the garage of a home there.

According to Battalion Chief Kyle Gilmore, the fire was extinguished very quickly after making entry into the garage from the backside of the house.

Gilmore said that that Fire Chief Irwin and Deputy Chief Shaw were first to arrive on scene, followed by 11 Sedalia Firefighters on three apparatuses. The fire inspector then arrived and an investigation began.
