Open Enrollment For Healthcare Marketplace Closing Soon
Open Enrollment for health insurance in the Marketplace ends Tuesday, Jan. 16, and well over 100,000 Missourians remain uninsured.
MPCA member community health centers across Missouri are offering free help to uninsured people to get coverage before the deadline.
Nine months after the State of Missouri ended its COVID-19 hiatus of requiring Medicaid annual renewals, there are approximately 110,000 people who have lost their insurance, half of those being children. Add to that the unknown number of Missourians who are already uninsured, and it has reached a crisis point in Missouri, according to the Missouri Primary Care Association.
It is easy and possible to become insured either in the Marketplace or through Medicaid when helped by professionals who know how to navigate the process. There are many compelling stories of Missourians whose minds are at ease, children are safe, and lives have been saved by becoming insured with the help of an ACA Navigator.
We are offering interviews with healthcare navigators and people they have helped become insured at health centers in your area for stories to be published and/or broadcast this week before the deadline.
MPCA and its member community health centers are not associated with an insurance broker or agency, they are public community health centers, whose navigators help people become insured for free. This is a public service.
