American Legion Riders Gearing Up for Fish Fry in Windsor
A group of bikers rolled into Sedalia Sunday afternoon and stopped at Flatliner Automotive to pose for a few photos before riding down to Cole Camp for dinner.
According to Mike Davis, representing the American Legion Riders, said the ride was to increase awareness of a fish fry buffet scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17 from 4 to 7 p.m., at the American Legion Riders Post 82 in Windsor.

The meal will consist of fish, shrimp, fried potatoes, cole slaw, baked beans and hush puppies for $15.
Entertainment at Windsor will be provided by Dave Stubblefield, Jim Luetjen, and Mark & Shannon Taylor.
“We do a little deal where we go around to the nursing homes and find out how many Veterans we have in the nursing homes, and we give them a care package,” David told KSIS.

“Usually not much, they really like socks, they really like sweat pants, sweat shirts, and we try to find out their branch of service and give them a T-shirt or something with their branch of service on it. And that really tickles them,” Davis noted.
It’s a good way to help out, because a lot of these guys don’t have visitors, or they have family, but they don’t show up. So that’s basically what we’re doing, we’re just trying to help the Vets, Davis stated.
“We’re also collecting toys for the Santa’s Helpers Toy Run (scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 1),” Davis noted.

That run will begin at noon at the Cole Camp Fire House, then at 1:30, proceed to Sedalia, make a brief stop at Yeager’s Cycle at 2 p.m, (pick up more bikers and toys) and end up at Stone Point Church at 24th and Ohio around 3 p.m., with a Sedalia Police & Sedalia Fire escort.

“It don’t matter what you bring, bring a can of beans, I don’t care. Every little bit helps. The Salvation Army can do a lot more with a dollar than we can. But we like to have unwrapped toys, so we can just give them directly to the kids,” Davis said.
At the church, there will be door prizes and a costume contest.
“And I advised the Grinch not to show up this year,” he added.
“We’re expecting a good turnout this year,” Davis said, including Sons of the American Legion from Sedalia and Warsaw are expected to take part.
Other big contributors include Flatline Automotive and H & M Trucking.
