Missouri State Fair Director Jason Moore made an announcement this morning that will bum folks out who enjoy attending the rodeo, motocross, or hitting the antique and classic tractor pulls. You may be bummed out if you attend any events usually held at the State Fair Arena.

Moore announced that all events typically held at the State Fair Arena will be canceled for 2024. Why? Because construction is starting on a brand new facility that will replace the current venue on the Fairgrounds.

More says, "It saddens us that we won’t be able to host events like rodeo, bull riding, demolition derby, motocross, TT races, and the antique, classic, and garden tractor pulls."

More went on to talk about how the Fair values the partnerships they've developed with the organizers of those events and appreciates their patience as the Fair builds their new arena. Additionally, he pointed out that the project represents a significant investment in the Fair's future and he can't wait to welcome these events and more back once construction is complete.

The Missouri State Fair's press release detailing the cancellation and talking about the new State Fair Arena says the new complex will provide a modern and versatile space for various events throughout the year and during the Missouri State Fair.

Some things that will work in the new Arena include livestock shows, conferences, trade shows, and community gatherings.

Nabholz Construction will build the enclosed, climate-controlled arena which will be 140,000 square feet. Groundbreaking for the new facility is expected this summer with a completion date expected sometime in 2026. The Missouri State Fair plans to keep fans and community members updated on the construction progress on their website and social media channels.
