According to the FBI, a Missouri woman was convicted of doing very bad things involving theft from a children's charity and she'll be spending the next 16 years in a federal prison for her crimes.

The FBI in St. Louis, Missouri just shared this video update explaining what Connie Bobo, former executive director of New Heights Community Resource Center, did and the penalty she'll pay.

The United States Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Missouri shared more details of what happened. They say the charity that Connie Bobo had access to provided meals to low-income, school-age children after school and during the summer. She submitted numerous fraudulent requests for meal reimbursements between 2019 and 2022 and used that money on luxury items including homes and vehicles.

“Connie Bobo’s greed is beyond reprehensible. She stole millions of dollars meant to feed low-income children in our community,” said Special Agent in Charge Chris Crocker of the FBI St. Louis Division. “Instead of helping hungry kids, she used that money to buy a $1 million home, a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, and four additional properties—all of which the FBI has now seized. Those stolen funds from a taxpayer- funded program could have provided meals for children across Missouri.”

The United States Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Missouri says that this case was investigated by the FBI and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Office of Inspector General.
